My wife and I have had Vamo V2, V3 and we both have V5s now (5 between the 2 of us). We also had a MVP V1. The MVP died within three months. The Vamo V2 started having button issues after 5 months. We both have a V3 and a V5 each.

We like the Vamo because it is smaller (particularly when using an 18350 battery) and we can replace the batteries on the fly (along with the benefits afforded by changeable batteries).

I decided on purchasing a Vamo V5 recently because of my experience with my V3. I was fishing on a stream and the Vamo fell out of my vest pocket and landed in 1 foot of water. I quickly got the vamo out of the water and removed the battery. It was working like new 12 hours later.

The MVP was purchased for my wife. She wanted an external battery that could charge her phone when needed. The MVP is the only mod that I am familiar with that advertises this feature.

Both are great devices and I enjoy(ed) using both, but it comes down to the features you want. That being said, I've found that I look at price and "bang for your buck" because I know something new will come out in a few months (or should that be weeks/days).

PS - I offered to get my wife another MVP, but she wanted the vamo because of the size.

As someone that has some experience in electronics, I find this to make no sense. It's like saying a heater run off a D.C. battery gives a "smoother" heat than one run off of A.C. found in a house. Even the eye has difficulty detecting something at 33Hz

Don't mean to offend you Baditude, you give a lot good advice to beginners, including me, but the whole PWM vs steady Voltage seems to me to be a gimmick.

Greetings; Wouldn't a more accurate analogy be to compare something cooked over steady gas stove, vs having the heat turned up and down rapidly? No matter how quickly you do this, don't you think there would be a noticeable result.

What would be cool is if these APVs could include a pulse width mod knob, like on a synthesizer. Given that 33 hz is in the audible range -- add an analog filter, a vca, and maybe you get a device that vapes and can do killer sub bass riffs at the same time.

Regards
Glenn

101vape has the protank 2 and the MVP 2 for the lowest prices that I have seen. Plus their shipping is super fast. I purchased mine on a Sunday night and had it at my door on Wednesday (I did not pay extra for faster shipping- I just picked the cheapest option). Also as Speedracer12 said they have the coil head replacements for $4.99 /5pack! that is an incredible price. My local vape shop sells them for $4 for only 1 coil!!
