MVP charger question (2 amp charger vs .5 amp ok?)

So I just received my brand-spanking new MVP v2.0, and I am thrilled to death with it. But of course, more fool me, I did not realize that it didn't come with a charger. Being low on funds (because I just ordered an MVP), I was hoping to use my kindle charger on it. But the MVP recommended a 5V 500mA charger, and my kindle charger is 5V 2A. I know hardly anything about electricity (I am trying to learn fast, but I was an English major for God's sake). Is it safe to use my kindle charger, or will it make my precious new baby explode? Any advice you can offer will be greatly appreciated ... but if you could tell me why as well, I will offer you loads of tasty imaginary cookies. :)

do you have any usb ports to plug into. Not a laptop but a desktop or tower computer? I don't think laptops are powerful enough, you may burn out the computers usb port, but a tower or desktop is ok.
Or you can go to walmart, in the lighting section near the surge protectors and find a 5v charger for under 8 dollars.
Not sure on the amps, but hopefully someone who know more will come along and comment.

Doh what am I thinking. You can also charge it with your cell phone charger.

You can actually just plug it into your computer and charge it there and still use it as it will work as a pass through. Just don't leave it unattended while it is charging on the computer (this is a general warning - I have never heard of MVP's having an overcharge issue)

I don't personally know if the kindle charger will harm it or not - I charge mine off of a 4 port powered usb and the transformer for that is 2.1 amp but I don't know if it splits the power off or not.

good choice on the MVP

I wouldn't recommend using it as a passthrough with computer. USB ports are rated at ~1amp.

But your multi-port more than likely is rated at 2.1Amps.. whether using 1port or all of them.

They don't come with chargers, just the cable; at least the one offered by 101vape.

The kindle 2 amp charger will do just fine. The MVP will only draw it's max .5 amps.

You will run into problems if you use a charger with a max output less than .5 amps. The charger will get too hot, and blow out.
