Hello fellow vapors,

I hope I'm posting this thread in the correct forum. I recently purchased an iTaste MVP from thevapestoreonline.com using the discount posted on Vapor Joe's blog. When I initially received the item, it had a (near) full charge and was able to get near 700 puffs from the device. When attempting to recharge the unit via computer USB, the device makes a high pitched whining noise and the light goes out. I've since tried to charge the device using 2 DC usb power adapters; one at 1000mA and the other at 2500mA. Both power adapters have similar conclusions - The green light would go out anywhere between 10 seconds and 5 minutes. After toggling the mini USB I was finally able to receive a consistent green light. However, after charging over night the green light never went out and after toggling with the mini usb and power adapters, the light finally went out. After an over night charge, I felt it was safe to assume the device had a full charge, however I was only capable of getting 114 puffs out of it before going orange. Also, the device shows a green light when connected to the power adapters (not the orange color indicated prior to charging) and periodically stops displaying any lights at all which normally indicates a full charge. I currently have the MVP connected to the 2500mA power adapter with a green light. I'll leave it there until the green light disappears, if it disappears at all.

I'm charging the device powered off and with the USB passthrough switch off.

Is the device defective? Am I using the wrong chargers? Has anybody had similar experiences? Are there any fixes, or did I buy a paperweight?

I addressed my concerns to The Vape Store Online and have yet to receive a response.

Thank you in advance.

I tried vaping it after I let it sit for a few hours and got the orange light pretty quickly. I thought maybe the lights weren't calibrated with the battery life, so I vaped it through orange and red, and sure enough, it died after a few puffs on red. I'm charging it up again and it doesn't seem it wants to get off the red light. It's defective and I will need a replacement. From green light to dead took me about 45 puffs.

Anybody else have this problem with their MVP? If so, was it fixable?

I agree, get it replaced and quit using it in case its defective--not worth the risk of a venting battery, etc.

FWIW, when charging mine will go from either red->green or orange->green it doesn't go red, orange, green. The green light is to indicate that its charging and has built up an acceptable charge to use as battery passthrough. The toggle switch on the bottom should be in OFF at all times unless using the MVP to charge another device like a cell phone.

I charge mine on a 5V/1A wall charger and within a couple hours the green light will go off indicating it is charged and I'll easily get 2-3 days before hitting the red and needing a recharge.
