just curious, who has pre-orders where they don't charge until the item comes in? that is a wish list- but, by name, please let me know who doesn't charge a pre-order up front- I would like to do business with them......

Amazon for starters. Then probably every brick and mortar retail store in the country (ever heard of a rain cheque?). They don't charge until they have your item and in most cases, ready to ship it. I ordered $2000 worth of custom made furniture from a Michigan furniture store recently and paid $0 up front. Pre-ordered a pair of Reebok Cross-fit from Eastbay, got the shoes three weeks later a day after my CC was charged.

In many cases with on-line purchases items in pre-order are in "pending" on your credit card, then charged at time of shipping. I pre-ordered a Protank II from Panama Vapor, charged when it was shipped. Phiniac took my order, made my design and then sent me a bill while they were making my tank as another example. They didn't charge me when I told them I wanted a tank, they charged me when they had it designed and ready to stick in the oven.

I do understand charging for big ticket releases (XBox, Iphone, TV), and I don't know all the policies of every company in the U.S., but you make it sound like it's impossible. It isn't. Leaving a purchase in pending status at the very least, is polite and a good customer-based business decision. When the item arrives, post it.

I also bought into the pre-order a couple of days ago.

What is kind of bothering me is, absolutely no actual info on the pre-order page. Just pretty much the price, and that it is a pre-order until the 28th. It also says all updates are available on their facebook page, which they don't even link to and you have to find yourself.

So to try and find any kind of info, you have to dig through random posts on their facebook page. He just replied to a 3 day old question today something about a 3 week waiting period. I can only assume he means 3 weeks from the 28th? So it is sounding like we are waiting until the end of September. That seems crazy considering people already have them in hand from other retailers.

I really think if they had clearly stated that kind of time frame, most people would have not ordered through them. And that feels (to me anyway) like a dirty trick almost.

Sorry for the rant. Just frustrating when it feels like you have to scour through random facebook posts to get any info from a business.

It took about three weeks to get the iTaste 134 from C2C, from the time the pre-order closed, to the time it was delivered... give or take a few days. They are simply taking the cash, separating their cut and paying for and placing the order direct from Innokin, or who ever their China distributor is.
Once they have them, it takes a few days to box them all up and ship them out in bulk... and when I say "them" I mean probably a one-man operation... which is what most on-line vendors are, a one-man-show. I'm certainly not defending him, but one guy can only do so much in a day.

I agree, it's not the friendliest or most confidence inspiring way to do business, but in the case of the 134, $70 bucks is $70 bucks of savings (I bought a mech, batteries and a decent RBA with that $70)... and it does give you an idea of how much a vendor is making when they sell them for $139 and up.

I'm a fairly patient guy, so 3-5 weeks for something I can live without... doesn't bother me much, but I can understand how it might spin you up a bit. I've been there. ;-)

Yeah, I can wait the 3 weeks or whatever, though I agree that the amount of information available is pretty low. That's something that is not really related to being a small operation.

Exactly. I understand that this is a small operation, and I understand it is good savings (hence why I ordered it).

My issue is with the lack of info. I even emailed asking about any kind of time frame, and have heard nothing back.

The only reason I even heard anything about the 3 weeks thing, was from another person on facebook asking a question. The website says all info is on facebook, but there is no info, just a lot of seemingly frustrated customers asking questions and being ignored. Even someone asking where his 134 order was, to which the owner of the site offered a refund instead of answering his question.

Again, I am just frustrated and ranting. Time to turn my attention on rebuilding some heads.

Did these guys delete the most recent posts about the MVP v2 on their FB page?

Yeah, I just checked to see if any of the questions had been answered yet, and it looks like he deleted anything related to MVP questions. I checked the actual website, and now that the pre-order is over it actually says there is a 3 week wait.

I agree with this feeling like a bait and switch. I saw the 28th and figured that was when they were going to be shipped. Honestly I would have ordered from someone else and paid the extra 20 bucks to have it in hand sooner. I don't even know what color I'm getting because all it said was carbon fibre so I am assuming that's the black textured one.

First preview I've seen for the V2: RPADTV https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0sa7doldR_A

Aside from RPADTV, Todd showed his newly arrive copy of the MVP V2 in his Blog. Watch for the full review in a few days. He attached his Vision BF Aurora to it, so it definitely has ego threads.

innokin itaste MVP v2 - YouTube

Saw both reviews. No mention if the Output switch on the bottom is flush; kind of looked like it from Todd's review. I would also like to know if a 510/510 adaptor would take care of the center pin issue on some atty devices. I'm definitely considering one of these.

Some of us have had good luck by moving the switch back and forth, and pressing it firmly into the MVP, to seat the switch actuator a bit more firmly on the internal mechanism. That's all it took on mine, anyway. Might be that at the factory they just put it in places, and don't seat it fully.

One of my Protanks has a slightly smaller than normal thread, and is loose on my MVP (and some other batteries as well.) I use a 510 to Ego adapter on it (so I can still use the tapered ring, and it works well. So that may help with the center pin length, too...

Didn't even think about a simple fix like that, sweet!

What do you think will happen to the V1? Will retailers discount it down to move it out?

This is normally what they do, but since the MVP is such a popular mod I don't think they'll have a "fire sale" to get rid of old inventory. My guess/prediction would be that the v1 would be about 10-15 bucks less than the v2. Like I said, that's a guess. Or prices may hold at 40-50 for the v1 and 60-70 for the v2.
