My ex made tinctures all the time with PGA and made some potent medicine. Since I've started vaping I've often thought that some of these would be vapable. You've done awesome work Proverb!
She would let her tinctures cold steep for up to two months on some of them, resulting in medicine which would require only a matter of drops up to maybe 5 ml or so.
What do you think about making highly concentrated extractions with PGA like this and using it as a dilutent up to maybe 15% in VG?
Maybe I missed it, but what happens if you steep for very long periods of time with your PG extractions?
I have asthma and would be interested in experimenting with a chest loosening formula of pine, eucalyptus etc type ingredients which have respectable flavors all their own.
Many people like to vape a little alocohol flavoring, which is what a tincture is. I have made Pg and Vg extractions. The PG did fine for me cold, but Vg need to be diluted with water 60% VG to 40% water to make a good extractions. These are called glicerides. I found I didn't get them as strong, so I didn't use them as flavorings, I just added nic and vaped.
To do a warm Vg extraction I used 100 ml glass jars with lids. I filled the jar with tobacco, or dried herbs and then filled the jar with vg/water mix. I put the lids on them and put them in the crock pot and filled the crock pot with water to the top of the lids and cooked on low for about two hours. You can go longer and the extraction will get darker, what I found dark didn't mean more flavor, but it always meant more junking with the coils. I like the light extractions. The rubarb turns red the lime bright green which is fine, but if you cook overnight they won't be bright they will be dark and mucky looking.
If you want more concentrated I would try less pg for a cold extraction. The I would strain it and try it as a flavoring. Experimenting is fun but i made so much I'm not sure I will ever vape through it.
