It's been a year since I started smoking my e-cig. A 510 kit. I have a large pile of atomizers from buying spare kits rather than individual parts, but overall its been much cheaper than cigarettes. I have only smoked 3 cigarettes in this period of time, and they all taster horrific, and left me wondering why I smoked them in the first place. Most of my friends have since fallen off the wagon for lack of trying. Mostly because they didn't keep themselves well stocked, and in one case because they went blu rather than getting a decent sized cigarette. Having smoked for a year, I have gone through a quart and a half of propylene glycol. Several 1 dram bottles of peppermint oil, and one and a half ounces of 36mg unflavored nic juice. In general it's been wonderful. But my biggest surprise is the thing very few people will believe me on. My atomizer lasted for a full year! It's scratched, the black paint is showing through to silver from numerous drops onto concrete, but it hasn't failed. I cleaned it out once, but never had to "resuscitate" it. If I have my say, I'm going to smoke it for another year quite happily, as I keep off of cigarettes, and keep enjoying vaping. Thanks E-Cig forum I couldn't have done it without you guys.

I'm curious about the flavor, I just had an atty that I couldn't get rid of a clove flavor, tried to clean it, now it has a burnt flavor, soaking that in some rubbing alcohol, in the meantime my carto has a slight menthol flavor, after I cleaned it a couple days ago. After a year I can only imagine the residual flavors left on an atty.

I think you have set the atty record. I'm still using my original attys that I bought 3 months ago, and they are working great. I don't clean them using any of the methods found here on ECF - I just blow them out once or twice a day, and try to not let them dry out while I'm vaping. I went on a spare parts buying spree (don't want to get caught short) and have about 45 LR510 attys, and 10 regular 510 attys that, at this rate, are going to last me a very long time.

From what I've heard/read. . .that's gotta be some kinda record. I received my first RIVa starter kit, inserted a prefilled cart, took two drags and the atty died. EM replaced it. But, by then I'd switched to Cartos and never looked back. Congrats on your first year anniversary, you and your atty. Ya gonna go for two?

Cheers,

For those who were curious, I got the kit at health-cabin. It's dented and scratched from being dropped onto cement a lot, what can I say, I'm clumsy. I've blown it out a few times. Mostly just blowing into one end, then the other with a paper towel catching the fluid. When it looks gross I wipe it with a paper towel. I buy kits not individual parts, so I have dozens of spare attys... its good because I've given em to friends who ran out, but bad because I feel like I've been wasting money.

My Propylene Glycol is from Rite-aid. My peppermint oil is Loranne's. I add WAY too much, so that it is stronger than an altoid in flavor. My Nicotine is VG based, and I rarely go above 3.2mg/ml. I've switched flavors a few times, normally I regret it, but in time the other flavor goes away.

I use the Pyramid tea bag filters in my cartridges, I get em at Cignot premade. I don't mind the normal filters though. Don't see a big difference anyway.

Hope this helps anyone trying to get longer life out of their atty... Maybe having the oil on the Atty prevents it from drying out and burning? My atty can become pretty slick with oil now and again... I'll let more scientific people test that theory, I'm going to keep doing what I'm doing.

Thank's again!
