I had just completed the cleaning/air drying of one of my 510 bridgeless attys. I put some pg in to prime it. I let the pg soak on the coil for a sec and started puffing to prime it. no vapor....none what-so-ever.
So, I added a couple more drops and tried puffing again. This time I got a little vapor, but not much at all. So I took the mouth piece off, pressed the button and was watching for vapor. There was some juice pooled up in the little pot under the coil and it was sizzling (snap, crackle) and I started to get more vapor....Now, this is where I shoulda known better, but I'm a dumb ....
......All of a sudden I hear a *POP* and juice flies up out of the atty straight into my face. It was like standing over a pan of frying eggs and the grease spitting you in the face, it stung. The funny thing was though, that there was little vapor trails following the droplets as they flew out of the atty, like those champagne popper streamer thingies.
I guess the moral of the story is, don't stare down the barrel of an atty with the trigger depressed.
~BTW- the atty still works, I didn't pop it.
