Just had the second battery in 2 weeks die. I'm trying to figure out if it is: a.bad batteries b.bad charger c.my earth magnet spacer d.something else...perhaps something in my pocket somehow shorting them?

I have these batteries:
IMR 14500 Li-Ion battery

this charger:
Amazon.com: UltraFire WF-139 3.6/3.7V Battery Charger for 18650, 14500, 16340, RCR123 Li-ion Batteries, comes with two spacers for charging 16340: Sports & Outdoors

These batteries are only about a month old. When i shake the dead batteries i can hear movement inside. Like there is something smaller then the case inside of the battery that i can feel shake back and forth when i shake the battery.

Ideas? I obviously am going to need new batteries. i will buy Aw's this time. The first time around i did not get Aw's because i could not find them anywhere inside the US. I don't really want to have to get a new charger as well. Although if the charger is the cause of my failing batteries, what choice do i have.

Suggestions where i can find AW batts inside the US for a reasonable price?

BTW my GF wanted me to mention that the charger sounds like it's possessed(Her words exactly are it sounds like "evil death.") It kinda hums/buzzes a bit while it charges.

I'd go with bad charger.

The only charger I have that I expect to make any noise is for car batteries.

Although the "somebody's countertop" picture doesn't inspire confidence either.

Make those batteries go away! Don't shake them! That sounds like an accident waiting to happen.

I have one of the same chargers. It does NOT make any noise. It also works good and charges my batteries with no problem

Are you sure the noise is from the charger? Could it be coming from the batteries?

Sounds like a totally unsafe situation until you know if that charger is good.
