I just use wire clippers and have never had one snap except where I wanted it to cut.

Most of the posts you see about these wicks talk about how brittle they are and how you can snap them just while wrapping a coil...
If you can cut them with wire clippers they'll take more stress than some people have suggested...

The fishwicks and LC2000 are very brittle. The Ao not so much.....

I only break my AO wicks when I'm cleaning the rba and accidentally drop it in the sink... SMH!!!

I do not know why but someone will answer you. I posted your concern on the co-op thread.
