I vent to NY few days ago. Realized to my horror that I left my mod and stuff at home. First thing I did when in NY Manhattan was to go to Henley Vaporium to buy a mod along with Atomizer and some liquid.

Since I started vaping I have used and bought 6 Authentic Mods along with 2 clones. My first clone was a Chi You SS. The firing switch on that mod was terrible. I gave that mod away to one of my friend and bought a Authentc CHI YOU SS.

I didn't expect to buy any more Clones but I needed something to vape on when in NY so at Henley Vaporium I bought a Nemesis Copper Clone.

I didn't expect it to be more than just usable because its a clone and my experience with the Chi You clone was not so good.

The switch on the Nemesis was a bit crunchy but I took it apart and polished it , spent like 1 hour on it. I just have to say that I´m very pleasantly surprised with that mod today. The switch is one of the best, the build quality of that mod is fantastic and in no way any worse than my authentic mods and the lockring is smooth and nice ( better than my Stingray LE Red copper lockring ) Would never buy that Stingray LE Red copper again unless they make it with a better quality lockring .

This Nemesis Clone is made by hcigar and I would buy it again if I lost it and I´m actually thinking of buying the SS version of it to.

Just wanted to share with you guys if anyone is thinking of buying Clone vs Authentic ,,,,.

Here is a photo of my mods , the Nemesis is on the far right .

Ahh. You have discovered the secret.
Usually the biggest discrepancy between originals and clones of better quality is found in the firing mechanism. Of course it can go either way. Sometimes the authentics are equally crap just due to a bad design or  shoddy workmanship.

On that note, I have an hcigar SS chi you, and never clicked with it because of the firing mechanism. For the most part it was relegated to the backup squad.
On a whim last week I went to the hardware store and bought a pack of springs that were much heavier than the original. Best 3.50 I have ever spent on vaping. I should mention I am heavy handed but now the mechanism is PERFECT to me. Takes a solid and intentional squeeze to fire. Pretty heavy, but smooth. The lock ring does not accidentally start to disassemble the entire firing mechanism when used and as a matter of fact has become more of a formality, as now the mod easily sits upright when not locked and there is no chance of an autofire.

I was going to put a magnet kit in it but no need now at all.

The Nemesis design is clean and uncomplicated. I have 5 Nemeses, all clones, and all are great. Most needed 10 or 15 minutes of TLC with the switch but once they were sanded and smoothed the switch works well. And you bought a HCigar version, a vendor known for at least attempting to produce a decent clone instead of just tossing any piece of garbage out there as some others have.

Glad you had a decent experience and your trip wasn't ruined because you forgot your gear.

I think it depends on the mod.

I owned, then sold, two authentic Nemesis mods. I just wasn't impressed with the quality of the mod.

Since then, I research carefully. I figure that if it can be cloned cheaply, it probably isn't worth the price the authentic is going for.

It seems to me that looks are the primary force in mod sales, then performance.

Depends, I´m actually so happy with the performance of my Nemesis Copper ( clone ) from Hcigar that I just ordered 2 more. I have Authentic Chi You SS, Tahiti GP Customs, Gus Lord , Gus Kiss QE, Luxe Copper SE, and Stingray LE Red copper.

The Nemesis is just as fine as any of these , after I spend about 1hr on the switch. For me the main reason buying the second 2 is performance and quality. I like it very much and the price is low enough for me to leave one in my car, one in my work kit and one in my pocket ;-).

The switch is what I don't like on the Nemesis - clone or authentic.

It tends to walk a bit, even after you replace the rice pin.

I prefer switches that have a center post that is independent of the locking mechanism's actions.

The idea behind the Neme's switch is great - easy to adjust for batteries. I think it's just overthought. Also, the stamped edges of the switch would catch my fingers.

Most people seem to like the Nemesis, so I must be missing something.

Yeah, I have the Hcigar Neme too, and I'm pretty happy with it, after working on the switch a bit and making a nylon rice pin for it. Now it's perfectly smooth and I'm very happy with it. Thinking of a Caravela clone next.
Would you be so kind as to elaborate on the "nylon rice pin"? For instance, how did you make it, what dimensions, do you think this method could work in other mods, specifically my authentic stingray, since I ....ing love the mod to death but have had switch issues since day one no matter what I do and I've tried MANY MANY MANYYYYY potential solutions to remedy the issue, all with varrying degrees of success but nothing that has completely and permanently resolved this most troublesome of vaping-issues. Thanks in advance, I sincerely appreciate you offering (since I'm hoping you will lol) your time, knowledge, and assistance =]
Keep on vaping all you cloud-chasing cowboys (and cowgirls) :vapor:

Replacing the rice pin is easy. Find something slightly too large for the half holes. Chuck it in a Dremel and sand it down until it is the right diameter. Metal or plastic is fine because the pin doesn't carry current so it just needs to be strong enough.
