Preorder Stingray Copper Black Mod Clone

Yep. It is a disappointment. When I opened the package and pulled out the box I was impressed. The box is gorgeous. When I opened the box I thought it looked decent. The logo is painted on (huge disappointment). When I pulled out the 18350 assembly (the unit comes with the top and bottom caps installed on the 350) I was rather impressed with the weight of it. It is a heavy unit. SO I pulled down my Nemesis and snagged my Omega off of it. I unscrewed the trigger on the Stingray and my heart kind of sank. It was a 1:1 copy of a Nemmy switch, but exceptionally sloppy. I installed the Omega on the top cap and was impressed with the floating 510 pin, and set up the 650 tube with my VTC5. The switch is atrocious. The inner bore is way off and the switch is nearly impossible to fire. I yanked my switch apart on my Nemmy clone and disassembled it. I basically used the cap from the Stingray and everything from the Nemmy clone (which I had to massage to get it even close to my real Nemmy). It is vastly improved, but it just feels like a Nemmy clone.

FWIW it does hit like a hammer. The tubes are impressive, but the black powdercoat with the painted logo sucks. It is pretty, and when the paint starts to flake I will strip it down, polish it, and maybe acid etch the stingray logo on it, so it isn't a total loss.

Oh well. My disappointment has really left me a bit standoffish on the real deal. Yes, I know it is a lousy clone that is not even close to a 1:1, but I am still irritated.

Don't waste your money on this clone. It is the worst purchase I have made thus far, aside from Blu.

Is this the skorite one your talking about?? The hcigar one I got I thought the same thing, till I cleaned it again sanded it down and polished it, now its not as bad. The weird thing is that the button still gets stuck but only with certain batteries. I dont get it. Not bad for what I paid I guess, but I was thinking the same thing about the real one. And I feel you on blu, my first e cig and I hate them, mostly the company but thats a different story.

The floating pin, dosnt float. i cant even get it to move.

The 18650 Tube, had paint splattered in the threads, i had to chip it out to even get the switch to screw in.

The switch is a joke, its crazy hard to press and its not magnetic as the description stated.

I am thoroughly upset with this purchase and most like wont order from them again. i aidd email them and will see how this turns out but i don't have a lot of hope.

So far, from what I understand, the Infinite version is the way to go.
Better yet - they are making batches without the black coating too.

I'm still waiting for the Infinite 1:1 Copper LE.

I got the Skorite from White Stag. I didn't have paint splattered, though. My threads are quite nice. Not perfect on the tube, but decent, and copper is tough to thread. The 510 is really solid, though. The threads are really nice up top. But the switch is atrocious, and not magnetic as stated in the description.

Oh, and while the floating pin was not really floating initially, I drove it out with a tiny socket (it is, indeed, a solid piece of copper) and lubed it with some dielectric grease, then returned it to it's Derlin insulator. It is quite snug, but works great, now.

Yeah, I'm on a group buy for the Infinite after we cancelled our Skorite orders, the rep my runner is talking to says there's no drip tip just yet but Infinite keeps insisting that they do on their Instagram. Anyone else order an Infinite one and have any insight on this?

I can't believe that I could sand it and fix it. The lateral movement is so bad that it will even bind up on the tube. But using the guts of my Nemmy clone with the button off the Stingray clone made it as good as the nemmy clone switch.

I know one of the Facebook groups got their group buy from Skorite in, apparently they are receiving new switches and top caps. I would contact WhiteStag.

Well i just got my response from WhiteStag, extremely disappointing. They said that they noticed these problems and they will have them fixed for round two.....

But for me they told me to take out the center pin and sand it down, i push on it pretty hard last night with the flat end of a drill bit and it did not come out. I don't really feel like i should have to modify something i JUST bought to make it work correctly.

As for the switch not being magnetic, i didn't even mention how terrible it was, he said he ordered Nemesis magnets that were coming in next week that i could BUY. Are you kidding me? your going to make me purchase more for an item you sold with an incorrect description? false advertisement anyone?

Either way i don't think i will be purchasing from WhiteStag again.

I completely agree! Just cause you can doesnt mean you should HAVE too especially considering its still new. I use my Hcigar stingray as my beater right now, not too fond of taking my authentics out and about out of fear of dropping it, id probably cry if that happened.

I would return it and buy a Stingray or a Panzer from a well-received vendor like eciggity. At least you'll know what you're getting. That magnetic switch issue is simply unacceptable.

It's a matter of bait and switch by the manufacturer, and Whitestag should be doing the right thing here and getting it fixed for everyone who's ordered and received one, instead of placing the responsibility on the customers.

Apparently the next run has silver plated contacts and magnetic switch is what I was told from the person I bought my skorite from.

Now to go order magnets, hopefully that will make this switch better, it really is atrocious.

Anyone know where to find some strong magnets for the switch.
