So now that I'm a owner of a Provari I wanted to expand. I have always used atomizers. What to get into the field of cartomizer tanks. My brain hurts from reading..and reading of which one to buy! I first bought a ego mega dual coil cartomizer.. It worked for about 6hrs, I refilled it and now I get the E1 code. Today I bought 510 DCT tank Cartomizer. Filled it, only to get nasty burnt taste. I guess I got a bad one? So I keep reading. I guess since I have the tank for it, what cartomizer should I buy for it? What ohm, and where???

Need more info. What ohm rating are the cartos you are using, and what voltage were you set at on the provari? Also, what is your fill method for the cartos?

Sounds like you may have pushed the first one too hard and popped the coil.

The second one sounds like you filled the tank, but didn't prime the carto.

From my experience with my provari and dual coil tanks. The best cartomizer to use is smok tech dual coil punched. If you want very top of the line the best vape i have found is punched mega fusion 801's from ikenvapes. That with an 801 to 510 adapter is a beauty.

Edit: To elaborate I usually get 2.5 ohm. With the dual coil, and the tank, this allows me to crank up voltage to 6v and i have yet to burn one of these cartos. Do not get Boge dual coil\ boge anything. They have been going down in quality lately.

Also, make sure your cartomizer is punched. If it's not pre-punched (as noted above) then you need to get a puncher. They're really cheap and let you easily punch holes in any carto.

I picked up the 1.5ohm. At 4volts. I use a syringe to fill. The first one still works on my twist. But won't work on my provari. The second one, I will go with you on that not priming the carto good enough..

If you want to stick with 1.5ohm that is fine. I still suggest going with Smok Tech's dual coil carto though. You will not be able to burn one out, your device would get an amperage overload error before that happened. Dual coil 1.5ohm tank the provari will run up to ~4.9volts without error. At that level it produces billowing amounts of vapor and would not burn on you.

I thought I remember seeing somewhere that the Provari doesn't play well with low resistance dual coil cartos. Cartos are never exactly the ohm rating that they state. A lot are +/- 0.2ohm. If the first one is REALLY a 1.3, maybe its throwing the amp protection on the provari.

The provari can be a little odd at times with them. I always use the provari's ohm reader before I fire up the carto. For low resist dual coil I just multiply the number by 3.4, if a LR happen to be 1.3 I would use it at ~4.3-4.4v depending. I usually don't run into this problem I just buy 2.5ohm haha. Also ive had boge LR's read 2.0 before. They can be +\- .5
