Hi folks, I was just visiting with my Brother in law who has a degree in chemistry and a PHD in Pharmacology. He works at and is part owner of a company in Philadelphia that works with large pharmacutical companies and medical insurance companies. He told me he had heard a lot of good things about Ecigs helping people with smoking. I asked him about inhaling PG and I showed him this report from the CASAA website:

http://tsp.plasa.org/tsp/working_groups/FS/docs/HSE.pdf

After reading it he said he would consider PG to be totally nontoxic. He named a number of medicines that contain it. He said I shouldn't worry at all about inhaling it as it would certainly be a thousand times safer than tobacco. He confirmed that nicotine by itself was not a problem and that he has heard it may indeed be actually beneficial in the treatment of Alzheimers, Parkinson's and schizophrenia. Just thought you'd want to know.

From what I understand nicotine is a vascular constrictor that raises blood pressure and is hard on your heart, so nicotine isn't completely harmless. I also have read somewhere that a scientist conducted a study years ago showing that rats that inhaled PG were less susceptible to influenza. I would rather just be free of the nicotine, but if I have to have it, I'd much rather vape it than smoke it :)
