My brother heard about me not smoking. He's a noob and has only smoked cigs like 35 years..:p He heard I quit after 40 years. He came down and gave me $200 and said fix me and the GF up. I gave him 4 twists, I think all 900mAh and 1100mAh, an MVP2 for ohm measurement, 5 EVODs, 15 coils, 3mm silica wick, 32ga kanthal. He watched me rebuild a coil. Told him to watch you-boob for rebuilding with cotton. I gave him maybe 200ml of juice. Maybe more. Lots of stuff. Virginia, Apple, Apple Icicle, Kiwi, RY4. He told me that's enough, just get him more juice. I told him "try what I gave you first and see what you like before I order more? Go to a decent B&M and try stuff and see what you like? I'm not just buying you stuff". I want him to find a good B&M just because he has too much money and I don't want to support all his buying..:) I also sent him several email links on where to buy things.

So how did I do? At least I saved him from BLU and all that.

Well they have all the ......ed studies saying that e-cig doesn't help much for stopping smoking. But those are done using little dumb 2 flavor 2 strength disposable crap. My experience is if you have good stuff, you will stop using tobacco. After smoking e-juice for a while there is no way you go back to yucky burning weeds. And he's the only brother I have. I want him to carry me at the end. I don't want to carry him. I carried my Mom, my Dad. Pall bearer sux.

Im suprise so many ppl started off with rebuilding wick and such, I started with a simple itaste vv and moved on to dualcoil kanger/evic, and im confused about everything. Volt/watt blah blah blah.

But I did got around 6 ppl to start vaping, only 1 totally quit smoking.

Good job on what you did to ur brother :)

You did good OP! I did the same for my younger sister pretty much. She's still just under the legal smoking age, but our mother tried all she could to get her to stop smoking short of pulling her from school, where she was getting the cigarettes. She finally granted me permission to get my sister vaping instead. Decided that some harm reduction was in order at this point. Even sending my sister to another school would have only slowed her down a bit. There is always a kid who knows how to get cigarettes and sells them, or even gives them away.

We originally set her up with two variable volt egos, two Evod like clearos, and a bottle of juice she liked of mine. The clearos broke down rather quickly (they were cheap generics) and she went back to smoking because it was easier to bum a smoke then to research replacements. I then hooked her up with a couple of Mini Protanks. They lasted longer, however with the pretty glass tanks I think her set up became a target at school, and both egos with Protanks on top were stolen. So finally I set her up with a Petal MVP 2, the matching tank, and 5 other clearos in plastic and glass. This is less of a target due to size I imagine. She's been with this set up for quite some time.

Through it all I've been sending her all the juice I wound up not loving from my Zamplebox subscription, trades, and purchases. Works out well for both of us as my husband hates clutter and doesn't understand my juice obsession. He has his all day vape and has the same juice in every topper he owns.

Which brings me to what I've invested into him to get him off cigarettes. He likes to claim he doesn't enjoy vaping. It's just nicotine replacement. It's not "cool" enough for him. In fact, he considers it the height of geeky. Until I upgrade to something he plays with in the middle of the night while I'm sleeping, and then decides he needs it. Generally take a few nights of playing and draining my batteries to make the decision, and then suddenly his current set up is just not adequate for his needs. If it isn't pink and girly, and if it isn't a box shape, he has no issue with simply taking over what he likes, leaving me with his old set up, or my old set up. Naturally I started buying pink, but he even started playing with my pink Provari at night, and then the iTaste's weren't working right suddenly. I had to buy him a black Provari off the classies.

If there is one story better than *I went to e-cigs and quit smoking!* it's *I got someone else to go to e-cigs and they quit smoking!*

Good job!

I got my mom in law to use e-cigs in hospice as she died of lung cancer. It was easy to get my sis in law to switch, with all that going on. My husband is next. He's been a bit of a challenge.

Delores, just remember that you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink... I only mention this as it was tough to get my wife lead in that direction. She had to ease in slowly, and only now has it taken hold. It's been a year and a half now, but I think it's finally gonna work for her. Just be patient and it will come over time... I have faith!

And, very sorry to hear about your Mother In Law. I too have many family members that have died of lung cancer and other effects of smoking.
