What I like today is iStick TC 40w, N mini with optional stainless clad tank, pack of spare coils, eliquid of choice. There seems to be TC coils available for the N mini when the time comes. I'd recommend staying in watts mode for better battery life. A beginner doesn't need back ups until they are cig free. If they get to that then they can start spending like all the other drunken sailors in this forum. The best moment to buy a back up is the day you let your cigs run out and make a serious try at zero cigs. Presents work.

I like the N mini because I started with that and understand it.

My personal stance when advising people on what to get is to spend what you would spend on 2 weeks worth of cigarettes for your device and juice. Unless they are a really light smoker this will secure a decent mid level of a device.

I'm gonna pay it forward since someone bought me my first vape, give him the X6 and gonna buy him a Nautilus and a couple extra coils, now just gotta bring him down to the flavor bar and he just has to get the liquid!
