As promised, here are a few pics of my first real Genisis. It's ghetto. It's GANGSTA. But it kicks some serious .... I love it. Am working on 'The (OG EZ-C) Line' now... using some eGo shells I got from GotVapes...
Pictured is vapour from 4,8 Volts, 3 wraps of Kanthal A-1 32 Gage, using 80/20 VG/PG Mixx. VG has been thinned a bit with some Tequila. What a TH! Lovin' this stuff...

Thanks. 2 end caps for CPVC (Hot Water) 1/2 inch tubing. 3/4 inch long piece of CPVC tubing. 1 stainless steel skirt from a dead KR808-D (or any other) cartomizer. Some clear epoxy. 1 3/4 inch wide medical syringe cut 3/4 inch long. I used the top of it for this. 2 short pieces of 14 gage copper electrical wiring.
Then put it all together. I'm not very good at tutorials - too many pics and our internet connection is sucky, sorry.
The black box is a 'The Puck' there is a tutorial on how to make one on ECF. Not sure on link, but I use Ni-mH batts for it. The OG Puck (my name for it) uses 2 battery boxes from Radio Shack. I use AA batts. I deviated a little from the tutorial and just soldered the electrical wiring directly to wires for the battery boxes.

Smokteck DC Cartomizer that finally died (2 months of almost daily use @work). Gutted. Pulled center + post out. Seal looked similar to CE2. Gutted CE2 for the center post and the hollow tube. bent so it would run up the side, added needle sealed with heat shrink and seated it. Negative post is smaller needle spot soldered (silver, lead free) to Carto inside. Used "Amazing Putty" (Food grade) for top seal. Made my wick and coil. It worked. If I insert the male thread from the shell I am waiting on I am in business. Didn't leak - from the top. Used a ghetto gorilla tape job to hold a top piece on for a mouth piece. Vaped it for a bit.

What I learned:
-The thing is to big. Need to cut it down so it holds 2-2.5ml.
-That big needle is, well BIG. It works though. If I cut sown the tube shell, the center post may be big enough, I can just use a screw.
-Soldering a needle to the inside edge of a batt tube is a PITA. But it worked :)
-It failed leak test at base. Now wonder these leak, even when new. Looking for ideas on that. Temporary fix was an eGo adapter, which contained any spillage. Obviously temporary.
-It doesn't wick as well as my top fed genesis I am running on my Bulli-Smoker A-2TM, which works crazy good and got me BACK into genesis atties.
-I need to get my +/- closer to the coil, I had a lot of room I didn't think I would have when it came time to wrapping.
-My 18 year old son was amazed at how much vapor it would produce!

It's finally finished. Kicks .... I love this thing! Van and Shpaolin - "Thank You" for coming up with such a wonderful product for us to vape (and copy). Y'all rock.
Shell is from GotVapes. Some blood, sweat and tears, along with some creative imagination, and this is the result.
4,8 Volts, 3 wraps of 32 Gage A-1 Kanthal. 80/20 VG/PG juice. The whole living room is filled with fog........ LOL

My bad. I also want to thank bohoo for coming up with the killer idea of using an eGo shell/carto! Thanks! We all owe you...

Don't know how you can with 3 wraps...

3 wraps of 32 A-1 for me is less than 1ohm (32 awg is 1.1 ohm per in.) I get 4 wraps per inch. That is almost 5 amps and more than 20 watts. 7 wraps for me is 2 ohms and the least I dare use at 4.8v.

I would not give much credence to Alžběta's vague unmeasured numbers. Not providing the ohms or actual loaded volts doesn't do us any good, as you have noted.

Sounds like "Puck 4.8V'. Well here's what 4 NiMHs (5.5V off the charger) can actually do with a 2Ω load.

About 7W.

Close-Up Wrap.jpg I'm glad y'all like what I modded. This is a close-up of what I'm vaping. And yes, it is a 'Puck' that I attached my 'OG Line' to.
I don't know much about OHM, Watts, etc. - and I don't own any meters, etc. for measuring electrical currents. I can say that I tried 4 wraps and it takes too long for the coil to heat up. I use #400 SS Mesh (from TheMeshCompany) and roll it about 1/8 of an inch. Tight. There is a tiny air hole in the center of the roll. I use 32 Gage Kanthal A-1. I use 4 AA rechargeable batteries at 1,2 Volts each. I get a pretty weak vapour production with 4 wraps, so I tried 3 and it vapes much better. I wanted to share with y'all what works for me.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
I would like to do a tutorial, but I'm not very good at that sort of thing. However, I will do the best I can.
A list of the parts I used:
2- eGo Shells from GotVapes.
2- pieces of 14 Gage Copper Wire (used for ordinary household wiring in the US) I cut them about 2 inches long and stripped 1/2 inch off each end.
1- 1/2 inch diameter thin Steel Washer.
1- Stainless Steel Skirt from dead cartomizer.
Plenty of clear Epoxy.
1- 7/16 OD Clear Plastic Tubing (from Lowe's Home Improvement Stores).
2- AA Battery Boxes from Radio Shack.
You will need a soldering iron, stripping tool for wiring (or a good sharp knife), a file, and a Dremel Tool.
I am thinking about making another one of these puppies, as I like the sleek look of 'The Line'. I will take some pics as I go along and then post it all once I'm finished. Hopefully, this will give you some kind of idea what an old Virginia hillbilly can do with a few hand tools!
In the meanwhile, "Happy Vaping" to all.. *toke*

Thanks bohoo for starting this thread. It motivated me to do this.

GV shell IS threaded to go on an eGo BTW. I didn't use it like this though. I just pulled the threads out, really easy on these shells. and slipped my pre made tank into it. With the added clear piece inside the shell, my tank fit snug as a bug in a rug :) Measured, and cut.
-My tank is a syringe "container" modded with a CE2 connector. It hold 2.5ml. Left the center post on and bent it to run up side of tank. heat shrinked it. Then I soldered another post to the - side of the connector, and it runs straight up. Cut my needles the length I wanted, dropped em in the hole of +/- posts, and soldered to secure.
-Used the Putty again, and it seems to be holding up OK. Need to build a delrin plug or something so I can reuse it.
-Top piece is from the shell, cut down about 1/4" and using a rubber tip from a DC cartomizer. A 601 tip and a eGo-T type B, and of course drip tip will work also.

My coil is 7 wraps of 32 gauge kanthal. Ωs are to high on this one as I get about 2.8Ω and am compensating with the ProVari.

Needle setup does work OK, but would prefer a screw setup. So that is next for me.

Quick question on wicking. My experience has been with the A-2 and the tank being on top, I had no issues with wicking. With this I am. I made sure it was a hollow tube wrap (straw), I tried with it going all the way to almost the bottom of the tank, and then I tried about midway. I seem to be having a problem getting it to wick decent. Any recommendations? I am using #400, maybe try the 325 (I think that is what it is) I have...

And of course mandatory pics....:vapor:

Also I discovered the 3ml dropper bottles fit perfectly inside an eGo batt tube... MVs has eGo batt tubes for .59 each...

Very nice job! Very nice. That's what's so kool about modding - everyone has their unique perspective on putting things together for their vape - and I really like how you used a medical syringe tube, and also saw that a 3ml dropper bottle works too. The setup I used does not hold a lot of liquid, so I have to refill it a lot. On the plus side, I don't get that dark colour juice from the wick. Minus side, I do a lot of refilling!
I've also found that with Genisis atties, wicking is somewhat of an issue as well. I followed Shpaolin's 'The Line' thread very closely and watched all his videos of 'The Line'. What I found works for me is that very briefly turning your Genisis upside down 1 to 3 times quickly will solve the wicking problem. Both Genisis-style atties I have wick fine when I do this. Also having thinner juice wicks much better too. Since I use mostly VG, I thin it with some Tequila (it's amazing!) LOL.
Hope it helps.

I'm thinking about heading off into a different direction with my next Genisis-Line atty - not sure yet, still have to get the 'picture' in my mind, or I can't make it. I like a lot JollyRoger's idea of putting a medical syringe tube into his Line. I thought about going bohoo's route with the 510 connector, but not sure on that either... some things just take time to put together!
"Happy Vaping" y'all........

Wick is sorted. I guess it was being choked off and not able to breathe enough. I created a larger whole for it and it wicks fine now. Got a perfect 2Ω coil. I was having issue with my connections to the needles fouling. That has been addressed also. It is rocking some cin apple VG on an eGo now and looks really no different then using a XL DC cartomizer. Gonna build a couple others. I need a way to turn some delrin or what not on the cheap!
