My computer crashed.

No joke. My home PC crashed big time. Right now, I'm using my sons PC as a backup until the $99.00 Dell I ordered online through a wholesaler gets delivered. The funny part is the dell I ordered for $99.00 (SHIPPING included) seems better than the three year old Compaq I was using.

I think I got hit with a virus big time that ate the boot mount. I can't even do a system restore. It deactivated Mcafee and did the dirty work. Somehow the virus got into the network

So, I may not be in here much for the next few days until I get the new PC settled. That could also take awhile because I'm going to canabalize the old PC as much as I can (video card, ram, extra 160 gig hard drive as drive D, etc). But rest assured, I will be back up to 100% as soon as possible so I can continue to bug the hell out of you all.

Just thank God my sons PC has a USB port so I can continue to vape using my passthrough.

Wish me luck. These e-cigs will be put to the ultimate test tonight as I get everything configured on my sons PC.

I keep saying my next one will be a Mac, BJW, that will make it last forever!
We still have a desktop, I do a lot of photo restorations, printing, etc. need big power.
But yes, the laptops now top out my super-power tower.

I gutted the old system in a computer autopsy. Was not a pretty sight. When that bare bones comes in and when I'm done with it, it'll have 1.5 gigs RAM, the 160 gig hard drive from my old system freshly formatted, my PNY accellerated video card with 512k video memory, and my DVD/CD-W drive to go along with the stock CD installed.

(Yes I know it has a Celeron processor, but the processor is faster than the AMD Atlon processor I had in my 3 year old PC. When I'm done with the hardware and driver upgrades, I'll be vaping my head off with the 8 USB ports )

And as for Apple, I somehow do not trust half eaten fruit as a logo and a mouse button that would compel me to use my middle finger each time.

Sorry to hear that, Jim.

I don't know what kind of network you're connecting to so just a heads up.
You should make every effort to have someone scan/clean it for viruses.
Hate to see you plug in that brand new system just to have the network infect it.
