Well at least I got 1/2 a day of pleasure out of it. Finished the build this morning and everything was working great. I went out to dinner and when I came home and pulled it out for a vape, I noticed the display was still on and the watts said 7 watts. I increased the wattage to 10 and it would not stay there, kept returning to 7 watts. Still vaped OK, just at 7 watts. About 15 minutes after that, the display completely stopped working, still vaped though. Now absolutely nothing, don't understand what the heck happened. It really sucks, wasted money and alot of wasted time, I guess its back to a store bought mod.

Sometimes removing power for a little bit sorts out some weirdness....but it sounds like you tried that.

This last weekend I had a similar issue with wattage self adjusting :D....mine went up....anyway check your solder joints.

I use fine strand silicone shielded wire and one of the very fine strands had gotten away from me and just happened to find and rest on the other contact.

Not sure if it would cause the display to go out and etc as I caught mine right away and knew I effed something up.

If everything looks good on your end contact Evolv. As said before their customer service is a good as it gets.

So... did you use the conductive glue you were wanting to use instead of solder? :D

Your down watts button is either stuck or like bap said you've got the wiring or contacts of the down watts button touching each other and in constant contact. And yes, if either the up or down watts button is constantly on the display will eventually stop working til you correct the reason for it and also disconnect, then re-connect the power in order to reset the board.

No, I actually soldered, wasn't that hard after all. I've checked all my joints and they look good. Maybe its a bad button, I don't know, like I said it worked perfectly for the 1st few hours then just bugged out. I disconnected the battery and reconnected it and it came back on and the buttons worked. The first time I hit the fire button, it went back to 7 watts and stayed there. Unfortunately, after I ensured everything worked correctly, I epoxied the DNA screen and buttons in place. Definitely cannot remove without breaking. I guess I'll have to get a new board and start over.

I would think if a button was stuck, the screen would show the Highest or Lowest wattage depending on which button it was. 6.0 or 20

Correction: "Not I would think". Had this happen to me once.

The lowest is 7 watts, breaktru. The beta boards did min 6 watts, but all the production boards have a min of 7 watts.

The OP said it kept reverting to 7 watts no matter if the up watts was pressed - so the down watts button seems to be stuck.

I also had this happen when the up watts button got stuck - went to 20 watts and stayed there. I had to jiggle the button to get it unstuck. By the time I realized what was happening and got the button unstuck the display blanked out. So I replaced the button and re-connected the power and was good to go.
