Everyone that has been following the vmax treads possibly already know that these new ss vmax units are coming from manufacture with pcb and modual regulation problems!! If you experiencing any vmax problems please feel free to post your comments and let the community know!!!

I have already stated that my unit has been sent back to seller for exchange just after 2 weeks of use !! The unit started smoking and smelling like burnt wiring from inside the unit while I had it to my face vaping it!!! So buyer beware....

I have some damm luck, my vmax seem like it was going to blow up, my lambo lt is under tread repair to give it the ability to change threads as I please and Im vaping on one of my first ego batteries with ce2s that I had gave my wife..... after vaping with my gen style atty on vv pv's that sh@t sucks!!!
Oh the mail man brought the phoenix atty so it made it a lil better.....yeah right!!

Here have a look!!........lol

no I didn't get it from gotvapes but im sure if anything happens they will replace it...the company I got mine from is replacing it.
The problems are related to the voltage regulator putting out more then whats selected so start vaping at around 3.3 then work your way up untill you find your setting. this thing puts out power.
Supposedly it has a safety feature and step down modual that did nothing for me so be carefull...im going to give it another shot with the new replacement unit and will post the updates......

I haven't been following the vmax threads, but I did buy a vmax SS the other day. It should be coming in the mail pretty soon.

What kind of problems have people had? I haven't really heard of any, but I haven't really been looking.

Did you get yours from gotvapes, and are you aware of any kind of warranty they have on their products?

I got it from liteecigusa and I dont recommend this company to no one.....

I was so happy to get my vmax back and quickly just after 2 vapes the unit froze and stop working.... the unit doesn't read the correct ohms from the atty and reads error after error after error..... then it stood in fire mode causing the unit to burn the wiring from the inside its like the center pin just stays on and hot till it burns out!! I had to rush to unscrew the atty and take the batterys out befor they get hot enough to explode...
I gave up!! , my safty is first and the unit just doesn't work!!! Im almost sure its the center pin thats dangerously compleating the circut as if it was in firing mode from being push in by the atty.... thats probly why the manufacturers started making the unit with the ego 510 connector instead...... the unit fried itself out... I will dissesemble the unit for information purposes and keep you guys updated with my findings.

I must point out that after back and forth communcations with the seller litecigusa, they did reimburse me for the damage unit and they did do the right thing!
Only companys that accept responcibility and back up their products with safty measures desearve a chance at this growing industry..... Was it worth the headakes? no!!! Do I recommend this vmax pv to anyone? No, Not the new V3 models they're to fragile and possibly dangerous!!!

So for everyone that buys products based on reviews don't believe the hype it isnt always the truth!
Only units that have been correctly inspected, tested and have a proven reliability track record should be sold and purchased.....thats my opinion!! Keeping the people that use these products on daily basis safe should be first priority for manufacturers and retailers alike.. keep it simple keep it safe and vape on!!

Now if this "BRAND NEW DEVICE" would have blown up the batterys in my face you think I could have sued smok or the company that sold it to me and sent it right back, supposedly as a new device when I brought it to their attention the first time!!!
Here you have it the proof is in the pudding!!! Rest my case this is the device that was sent back to me as new after I reported problems with the device once before!! Shame on you!!!..........thank god for my trust worthy lava tube!!!

Ok guys help out here....is that the way the inside of a 4 day supposedly brand new unit supposed to look??

The question should be "Should the unit fail in 4 days?". The way it looks is clearly the result of a failure. The age of the unit isn't a factor.

While I have had 4 non Vmax models fail, three were due to wires breaking at the solder joints, easily fixed, The other was a battery that wouldn't hold a charge in a sealed unit. The wires failed due to the units being dropped which loosened the threaded top assembly.

Since you have had 2 failures on 2 different units, I'm wondeing if theres a common link, ie: the atomizer. Even if the atomizer was shorted, I would expect the Vmax to report the error and shut down.

It's no fun having to deal with failures, but if you continue to have issues I would definitely be interested in hearing about it.

I have 3 Vmax units now and have no issues at all, they work excellent. But, I'd like to know if theres something I should avoid pairing with it in case theres an incompatibility.

This is the lastest unit that came out the v3 from day one that I received it I noticed someting wasn't right!! I was running it with the did atty at 1.7 to 1.9 amps or whatever is called and 4.3 omhs on my vmax and it froze, continued vaping fine for a few days then again froze had to take out the batterys multiple times to restart it.... theres no way my unit should've started smoking hot from the inside unless it was already damaged.....I mean look at the picture of the board isnt there supposed to be a chip of some sort wit magnetic wire rap around it on the positive side?? Where did it go? I didn't remove it.....and the problem with the ego batt was the switch my wife never cleaned it and it had juice inside.....I take everything apart to find out what went wrong...lol the lava tube only had strip treads and is working fine with every atty I put on it....the same attys I put on the vmax.... last I had it with my vivi tank same thing happend and the vivi tank was reading 1.5 and I vape it at 3.3 omhs on the max again there no reason for it to get hot wires inside and burn like that......or im I wrong please help me understand if there someting else posible!!

The only thing I could think of is that one of the two wires broke in the end cap, possibly moving to touch the outer shell, shorting in a way that couldn't be detected by the safety circuit.

Looking at a non-burnt up board, you can see the two transistors marked Q3 & Q5, looks like they took the hit on your board. Theres not supposed to be any coils. The one burnt wire going to the F- pad on your board looks bad, and to me, the only way it could burn up like that is if was the root cause. If it were a board problem only, the board should burn, but not take out the wire. The wire is meant to handle full current rating of the unit, and since its hooked through a resistance (your atomizer) its should never burn up under any normal circumstance.

The burnt wire looks more like it was resoderd to the cap and the risistors and the resistance R5 and R7 also burned.... it looked really bad under the magnified glass... is it posible for a bypass job to be done on a board like this, on the resistors you just pointed out? I just want to know if its possible I mean it doesn't matter the unit is dead but I would like to know if something like that is possible....I rermember one time bypassing a fuse line in my car and it fried the hell out of my wires when I blew the horn so I was thinking if that concept applies here.....

Do you have an extra working board for sale...???

Wow, this is just amazing, and you seem to be lucky that it didnt hurt you. Im a bit confused though, why are you guys bothering to FIX them? I know that for some DIY and clever people it is easy for you to fix it, but WHY? I dont know how much they cost, but unless it was a 20 dollar item , send it back? If you all fix them then they wont either, fix them at the factory or know there is something dangerously wrong. Just my two bits.
I was recently on the market for a good PV and searched and searched all over. I found an item just over a 100.00 made here in US( not that this makes anything safer) It had a great following, people were raving about not only the unit, but how the maker spent all his resources and efforts in making a rugged, and attractive unit, but his #1 priority was SAFETY.

Again, im not putting anyone, down except the company that makes them and the bad way that vendor has supposedly taken care of you, but dang, It certaintly seems like a major safety flaw.

Stay safe, and I hope all gets better and even more I hope no one gets hurt.

BTW, I love the cigar box you are using. I have a collection of cigar boxes and of course they are now filled with various PV accessories, how much more appropriate can that be?
I have a beautiful black and gold box by Tabac especial all ready for my new PV to come in, I lined it with foam padding. I used to love Romeo and Juliets

I did send it back and this is what I got back ....its crazy!! it doest matter anymore he is dead and I want him to live vmax has to live......lol I just like learning tinkering and electronics so when something like this happens I try to turn it into a learning experience.....now why repair it? well the board is dead it cant be repaird but the body of the unit is still good so why waist such a beautiful pv tube why not put another engine in it to make it roar......lol the body is still good. Its a nice tube and it deserves a better ending then this one......it just wasn't right!!! Someone could've gotten hurt....I want to run more test with a new board to see how it responds to the same attys and maybe other batterys I just feel the need to know what happen and what could happen so that I could prevent it from happening to anyone....

LOl, I understand. I seem to have this weird affinity to things like computers. I figure why dump it if it can live again. I have a alienware laptop that has problems with one of its graphic cards. I know this can be fixed as its not the main part of the laptop. Most people use a computer and when it doesnt perform they throw perfectly usable PC desktops or laptops just because they are infected with something. All they need is a reformat or new hard drive etc. and they spend up to thousands on something new that they only use for browsing the net or organizing their music or photos which they loose or throw away because they dont back things up. Okay there is my rant of the day:)
