I'm almost at 6 months vaping..........Went for a check up today and as soon as the Dr. listened to my chest, inhale/exhale, she knew I had quit. Said I never sounded so good. I guess my lungs are starting to repair themselves! 
My Dr. knew right away.....

Fantastic.......I am sure mine will jump for joy when he checks my lungs........Just the fact that I do not cough all the time makes me a happy man. vape on

Amazing what our bodies can do for us...one thing I kept telling myself...if I have emphysema it will never get better..but it definitely will get worse...
My lung capacity has increased twofold, I am sure..and I can sleep through the night without waking up to cough...
Having asthma, my lungs are very sensitive and, unfortunately, damaged from smoking. I have a lung test from when I was at the height of smoking. Kinda can't wait to go back in 3 months and find out the new results. Congrats OP!
Congrats! I too want to see how my lung function is next time. I was told 3 years ago that I was showing the beginnings of emphysema and it still took me this long to quit.

I went and saw my psychiatrist today and told him I'm 2 weeks into quitting and he was real happy. He approved of vaping too, said it was far better for me than cigs.

So your doctor supports vaping. That's good to hear. Mine does too and recommends it to his smoking patients.
The body is an amazing thing. When you quit smoking your lungs will actually start to heal and can get back to a normal function. Most people will notice this time when they are coughing up phlem from the lungs. Congrats on the good bill of health
