Can the prefilled cartridges be refilled after they are spent or can only the blank one can?

You can refill both. If you choose to refill one that has been prefilled, you'll want to fill it with the same flavor it was before or rinse out the last flavor. Unless you want a combo of the last flavor and the new flavor, that is.

You can find some really need tasting combo flavors if you fill with a compatible juice!

you can rinse the carto out and let it dry. If you do a good job you can re-fill with any flavor you like, not just the original flavor.
