Both ways work, and YMMV as to the number of fills you will get, but the performance is roughly equivalent, I have found. For some reason, my Premium Smilin Menthol prefilled coolcarts go forever. Blank Coolcarts filled with Wow Peppermint also seem to function well with more refills. I am not big on cleaning/boiling cartos, though, so someone else will need to chime in about performance after cleaning.

I enjoy getting prefilled cartos with matching juice because they are then labeled with the juice name and strength. Some people don't like the color that the prefilled cartomizer comes in, so will order juice and empty cartos.

Another reason to order separately is that the prefilled carto is not your preferred type of carto. (I like Coolcarts, so I get WoW juice, and put into cool carts. I'm sure there are folks who do the opposite as well.)

When I am first testing flavors, I tend to buy the prefilled, and order the juice later if I like it. Sample packs are awesome for this, too! :)

The sale going on now through Oct. 29 is for 21% off, and the coupon code is "Customer".

Hi,

I'm about to place an order and I would like to start refilling my cartomizers with juice. Can I just refill some prefilled cartomizers or do I have to buy blank cartomizers ? How many times can I refill cartomizers (blanks or prefilled) ?

Yes, you can just refill some prefilled cartos if you want to. I've got cartos that I've refilled over 200 times and they still work great. Most people say that after 5 or so refills, they tend to move on to another carto, but unless the atomizer pops, or the polyfill burns, the cartos will last indefinitely.

It's up to you how often you want to switch to a new carto for refilling or not, it's all personal preference.

I do suggest you get similar flavors to refill with though. Putting a smooth flavor like vanilla into a Nuport cart will definitely not taste like either flavor. Some flavors are stronger and linger longer in a cart even with a good cleaning/washing.

You can refill used cartos with the same or complimentary flavors. Keeping in mind that these are supposed to be 1 use disposable units, how many refills you get will vary from carto to carto. There are tons of threads here about refilling, cleaning and reusing the cartos. I've refilled some 8 or 9 times and some once before I killed them.

I always buy pre-filled because it is a great way to test out new flavors. Like others have said, you can then re-fill with the same or similar / complimentary flavors. I do clean / boil cartos that have a strong flavor I do not care for before re-filling and toss the ones that become hard to draw. I've read about burning out cartos, but I have not yet had that problem - just stop vaping when the flavor gets weak or at the first hint of a burnt flavor.

Cant say Iv ever "killed" a cartomizer.
I buy flavored cartos and puff on them for an hour or two, then pop the cap and add a few drops of my favorite juice, making sure the filler never drys out completely. I will "top off" a flavored carto about 5 or 6 times before throwing it in the boil bucket.
If you decide to boil your used cartos take extra care to make sure they are dry before refilling. I typically, after boiling, shake out then blow through each carto to get all excess water out. Then let them sit for 24 hours and blow through them again. After 48 hours dry time most are good to be refilled, but just to be sure I usually wait 3 or 4 days before refilling.

I don't buy prefilled cartos anymore. I find that the blanks seem to produce a lot more vapor for me. I have only boiled cartos once. It's hit or miss. Boiling is good for removing unwanted flavors. Also, with repeated filling, the filler tends to become super saturated and your vapor production will eventually dwindle to nothing. Boiling will not bring a dead carto back to life. I boil, rinse, boil again, blow them out and let them sit overnight. They're dry after about 12 hours. Be sure to remove the mouthpieces before you boil. Throw them in a glass of warm water and let them dry with the cartos when you're done.

I prefer the buy pre-filled carts with a 30ml bottle of juice. By the time the 30ml juice is gone from refills the carts get pretty bad in my opinion.

That's been my finding as well. 30mL of liquid ~ 5 cartos.

However, this week was the first time I've used a V4L carto. I got it in a trade. It was different than the "generic" cartos I've been using in that it had a rubber tip instead of a silicone ring and plastic tip. Also, it lasted AT LEAST 2.5x as long as the generics and had better vaping quality throughout its life.

Does anyone know how I can identify which kind of carto that was? I just ordered some V4L WOW cartos and I'm hoping it is the same.

Thanks!
