Terraphon - people in here are still using the dura carts. Not the the new carts with the dura-c. We will see if they did improve the carts in the upcoming weeks when people get it.

I hope that is the case. I would like to hear back that the new carts fix the problem entirely.

I've actually been waiting for the C to come out because I've wanted a manual stick that wasn't very big. When I read that the things are still leaking I was very disappointed.

As I posted in the OTHER thread where this guy is trying to bully me (which, by the way, NEVER works with me) I'd love to hear that the issues are resolved and that the community as a whole has a reliable device with good performance that has a good price point and is available to anyone that wants one...This unit would fit the bill perfectly.

At this point, though, I just don't have any faith in Janty...I've heard too many negative things to justify spending my money on their products...FOR NOW...

And in response to the post above about deflection ;

That's a standard debate tactic when people don't have the answers. They set up what's called "a straw-man's argument" wherein they attempt to re-focus the discussion on something that takes the attention away from the topic at hand. In this case, sanneke is attempting to use my posts as the straw man and force me to defend my stance instead of addressing the original point.

Next, he'll likely start in with sophistry...even though he won't realize he's doing it (he's already touched on it with stating that the battery is the cause of the problem).

God I love this sh.t.

so Parliment "I got my Dura-C today too... " did not get a Dura - C?

what is going on?

In all fairness, there was also a post about new cartridges not being out "13 weeks" after the issue was announced.

It IS possible that they sent old style carts but I would frown upon that since we know that leaky carts can cause equipment failures. It seems Janty MAY have jumped the gun on this.

There is a theory "I" have about the leak and low battery, although I have not seen it but It would stand to reason that while sitting, fluid will soak from the cart to the atomizer. If you then suck on it without enough power to vaporize all of the fluid some could theoretically be pulled up into the mouthpiece. This is just a theory and the obvious arguement will be that when the battery gets low enough to not work properly it shuts off to prevent over discharge. Fluid has always collected on the flat spots on the cart and can be sucked into the mouthpeice, but the mouthpeice has a small resoviour that can be accessed with a paper clip and drained. My solution to the problem is not to fill the carts to the top or just pull it off and wipe it after the first few puffs and it works fine for the rest of the cart. So far I have not had a cart that leaks out on your hands. hopefully I have managed to beat around this issue thoroughly enough to have said nothing of any importance or controversy.

To my understanding the Dura-C has different batteries and the new carts are supposed to fit tighter, same atomizer. So anyone who had the original Dura could interchange anything they have from either model, except of course the PCC. An older Dura cart would still fit, just looser. That is what is supposed to fix the leak issue. I haven't received mine yet and didn't have an older one. This is how it's been explained to me.

There are already "NEW" automatic and manual batteries already in the works. Sort-of like buying a computer. Obsolete before you leave the store. LOL

I have 3 sets ordered along with a PCC that these manual batteries won't even work with, so I've been reading everything and asking tons of questions. Hoping at worst I'll only need to pick up a few more "new" batteries once they are released for the PCC and be able to call it good.

Thanks for the post, vince.

What they're talking about here, though, is liquid seeping out from where the cart joins the battery. The statement is that if the device is left sitting, liquid will actually wick out and pool under the device...That's not a good thing.

Doesn't commonly happen with any of the other models of e-cig *that I've ever seen reported*.

thank you Terraphon, it's all too confusing.
Ludo posts the carts are fixed, i took it to mean they were fixed.
i don't think it's too much to ask if known issues are resolved before making a purchase. and thank you for not backing down. i wouldn't have learned anything otherwise.

we need a clarification from Parliment but I'm assuming he just received the dura-c battery and not the kit.

Seems he got the whole kit.

I got my Dura-C today too...

So far, it seems to be pretty great.

I recieved 2 atomizers (I was only expecting 1) which is pretty awesome.

I have one battery charging, and I couldn't help but try a few vapes with the other battery. This is my first e-cig with a manual switch on it, and I have to say, I really like it. I seem to be getting a lot of vapor.

My only gripe is the carts leak like a... like a.... something that leaks a lot.

I read a post on here from December from Janty stating they would have new carts out within 4 weeks, well its been about 13 weeks, and I definetly have leaky carts. Oh well...

I really hope my Dura's last, my mini foggers were so-so, I had problems with getting consistant smoke, then one of my batteries died, and I mailed it to Jeff (over 2 months ago) and still havent seen a replacement...

Any suggestions on minimizing leak? I am also a bit scared to drip on this atomizer, the coil is real deep in the atomizer, and i am used to dripping on my fogger, I am a bit apprehensive to just throw juice down that pitfall...

Note that he mentions 2 atomizers and 2 batteries.

He also doesn't mention being a previous Dura owner but does mention the fogger so it's fairly safe to assume that he got the carts with his shipment.

I would love some clarification on this too, though.

hehehe...I never back down. I'm thick headed like that.

When I get something stuck in my head I stay on it until the work is done...Either I get all of the information I'm looking for or it's proven beyond any shadow of a doubt that I'm wrong.

In this case, I know I'm not wrong to ask the questions I'm asking so I won't be walking away from this too easily.

Oh, I see. perhaps it is a quality control issue. I keep mine cart up in my shirt pocket and never had any leaks with the old one. It's problem was a dead battery after a day then a weak atomizer after a week. I'm using my new atomizer and carts that came with the Dura C and one of my old batteries and so far it's great, no leaks. My first one was never great, just okay, but this new atomizer rocks.
I'm Chiefin' like Sitting Bull and his braves sitting around the TeePee!

I'm waiting for the manual batteries to charge.

When you take into account that they have been on pre-order with the "new" manual batteries for some time. Batteries that do not fit the (up until a few days ago) advertised optional accessory, the PCC. Leaving those having bought a PCC only old defective automatic batteries as an option since the new automatic batteries aren't out yet. With new manual batteries that will fit already being announced as forthcoming.....

Well, 2 ways to look at it. Either they freaked over the bad batteries and jumped the gun releasing with the manuals or they are simply brilliant by ensuring Dura customers will continue to buy the latest upgrade.

Oh, sorry, didnt read all the posts before I replied.

What I recieved was a "kit".

It was 2 Dura-C Batteries, 2 Atomizers, and a pack of cartridges.

This is my furst Dura purchase, I did the pre-order of the Dura, and then asked Jeff to wait until the Dura-C was available to ship me my order. I will say however, that the box and instruction manual appear to be for the standard Dura, so maybe Jeff just swapped the batteries with an original Dura kit. Either way, I am pretty happy, and hopefully the cart issue will be resolved by the next time I order.

lol

Seems that either way they've boned the beagle because the consumers are the ones taking it in the shorts on the front end, unfortunately, but word does tend to spread which often brings about karma faster than one would like.

I'd like to give benefit of the doubt, though, and assume that they just freaked and scrambled to make it right, stumbling a bit in the process.

Time will tell.
