So, I bought an "Elektro" brand e-cig, mainly because the corner store near me sells them and I hate waiting for things in the mail. Anyway, it worked beautifully for about 24 hours, but now I'm having trouble. When I inhale, the indicator tip flashes 10 times, which, according to the user manual means: "when the indicating lamp continuously glitters 10 times of opportunities remlriders please not To have excessively frequent to use." [SIC]

Is this thing really not letting me have any more? I tried charging it, I tried changing the cartridge, and I've tried waiting a couple hours. What gives? Any ideas on how to circumvent this thing? Part of the big appeal of this thing was to be able to take a few puffs whenever I needed some, this kind of makes me want to just run out and buy a pack of smokes, smoke them at my leisure.

This is terrible news. That's what I get for not doing my research, I suppose. I bought extra cartridges too.

And to be honest, I hadn't really planned on giving up the analogs. I assumed it would happen on it's own, but I'm really just attracted to the convenience of the e-cig. I was smoking a analog in between these posts, in fact.

Guess I'll check the videos and prepare to reboot... what a waste.

Not a total waste. It got you here and that's a good thing. Start reading...before you know it you'll be well educated and ready for your next PV.

Actually...I just looked up that "Elektro". That's an "808" style e-cig and not too horrible. It's probably safe to assume it's an automatic battery and doesn't have a button to activate it. Automatic style batteries have a small hole in the connector to activate the switch upon draw. You may have gotten juice down into the battery. Remove the atomizer. Hold it at the LED end and flick it like you'd flick a mercury/glass thermometer. You may be able to save it.

Dont sweat it even if you cant return it. I am sure you spent less than a months worth of analogs on it. Finding this site early will save you money in no time. I order my ego kits from Liberty Flights. Great warranty and great prices. I hear the Riva is awesome too. They last all day, but they are closer to the size of a swisher cigar. If you are looking for a cigarette sized unit, go for the 510, but be prepared for limited battery life.

Stosh! You beat me to it! LOL!

I must have watched these videos a dozen times before I finally decided to buy Riva kits for me and my fiance. GreenSmokes was my first e-cig. More research brought me here and I haven't regretted a single moment since. Make yourself comfy, watch the videos, peruse the forums and don't be afraid to ask questions. This is one of your best resources for answers and support!

As others have said, it wasn't a waste. A high percentage of us here started with something similar, and through reading these forums, eventually found a great device.

So true, so true. I have gone through 5 different pv's before I decided which one I like the best, and I'm still about to place an order for yet another different model than what I already have. It takes a lot of trial and error, and you can end up with bum models even after you're experienced in buying them. Its all part of the game. Enjoy!

I've heard a few unpopular PV's stop letting you vape if you suck too long. it may not let you vape for 30 seconds or 90 seconds or more. Is that what happened? Also, if it is a 3-piece ecigarette you can try blowing out the atty (the middle piece) into a tissue. Maybe it got full of juice or something. And check the end of your battery and atty and inside of the charger screw-in thing to make sure there is no juice on any of those - that can prevent charging.

I also recommend the Illustrated Guide to Vaping - in the sticky threads at the top of New members forum, look for the thread with Library in its name.

Sorry for your loss. Of money that is. Go to the store and demand a refund. Buy a pack of smokes, order a 510 or mod online, wait, open package, toss cigarrettes, live again.

Bless your heart, but I have to agree.
It's ok, a learning lesson only and we are sooooo glad that you are here, so many
can help you!!

You are exactly right.....on your second post.
Read here, learn here and you too will be added to the "I can't believe it was so easy" stopped smoking list!

OOPS, sorry, LOL!!

I watched all the videos AFTER my Firelight (POS disaster), and then 801 w/ passthru, and finally
settled on my ego.

Now it's different attys, cartos, drip tips and juices, but the videos were still informative for me, watching them while dripping on my 801 adapted to my ego battery.
