I screwed it in fully until it made contact and the ego light blinked. I wake up to find that the "still charging" light is still red after 7 hours. Wow, this is my backup for the provari and I guess the stereotype of Chinese quality really is true.

Could be that you just need to clean the connections on the charger and battery, if you haven't already done so. I had this problem and I'm pretty sure my issue was the charger connection being just dusty and such, even though it didn't appear overly grimy or something. Could also just be the ego's time to die if you've had it a while.
Mine did the same today. I plugged it in last night and charged it over night, only to wake to the light still being red.
But, I used it today with no problems, so I guess it still charged up. I put my other ego on to charge for today and the light did turn green for it.

its brand spankin new... and it almost lasted the day so that is good. I guess there is a common malfunction with the usb charger or the battery not sending some signal that its done charging.
yeah, quality definitely is lacking. Even the button sticks and keeps it powered on right out of the box.
