(I had this over in the eGo sub-forum, but thought it might get more opinions here ... I don't know how many people read the sub-forums?)

Ok, so I'm planning on getting an eGo Twist for some home/car use, it will give my little mini's a break when I am home, and hopefully open up the vaping world more for me.

I'm going to get (2) 650mAh Twist batteiries, and the appropriate usb charger. (I think 2 should last me the day, and I don't really want huge batteries like the 900's or 1000's).

(2) GotVapes Vision Mini ViVi Nova™ 2.5ml 2.4ohm clearomizers.

(1) of the adaptors that smooth out the void between the battery and the clearomizer. (I have no idea what these are called, or where to buy them).

What else should I be looking for? I want some kind of atomizer for dripping new liquids (kinda like taste testing). From what I read, I can get a bridgeless atomizer, which seems to be a little black or sliver tube, but what else do I need for that? Does it go in something? Or does something go over it?

Did I miss anything? Should I be getting more of something? Any help would be appreicated!

Aslo, if anyone knows of a site I can get all of this from in one shop, good rep, reasonable price, I'm all ears. Otherwise, I'm just gonna start hitting the "good rep" vendors here and see what I can see this weekend!

One thing to consider when shopping for Vivi Novas and Mini Novas is that some vendors price includes the head that is in the tank, some include that plus one spare, some include two spares. Some sell 3 heads, but they pick the resistance (1.8, 2.4, and 2.8 ohm) some sell 3 heads and you can pick the resistance of 2 of them (tank usually comes with 2.4 ohm head). This is just something to be aware of so you are not comparing apples to oranges with the pricing.

A 306 atty or i06 atty is considered a relatively good value for attys, but any atty will due. The taste and lifespan may vary, is all.

I have shopped

Gotvapes
Altsmoke
VaporGeek
Canvape

with good results. It is rare to find everything at one vendor, but there are hundreds of vendors that I haven't shopped at. Shopping is half the fun!

BTW Great choice the Twist and Mini Nova! (2.4 works well, but any of the resistances can be used on the Twist)

Relax, Enjoy!

Edit: Here is a link for the Shorty Cones

Different sites call them different names, Thread Protectors, etc.

Any resistance "can" be used on the twist, but any variable volt device should use higher resistance vaporizing devices for more accurate voltage regulation. Lower resistance devices don't really work well with VV. I'm using a 1.5 ohm carto on my gripper, and it vapes just fine, but the voltages changes don't do a whole lot for it.

If you're going to order all of your stuff from Gotvapes (great company, BTW), this is probably the sleeve to get to hide the eGo threads when using your mini: eGo Thread Sleeve Type B. It's not the one I have, but it looks like it might actually be better. They also have it in black.

For dripping atomizers, I just got one of these: GV Bridgless Drippers Dream 1.7 ohm. It's totally awesome, and doesn't hold on to the old flavors when I'm switching. They're often sold out, but they also have them at different ohm ratings. The drip tip that comes with your Nova Mini should work on this, but of course it's always a good thing to have an extra 510 drip tip or twelve on hand.

I also really like 306 attys for dripping, but bear in mind that they require a special 306 drip tip since they're exposed, rather than concealed like the 510 atty.

Here are some links for sleeve cones from other sites:

eGo Steel Sleeve Cone (Type A / Type B) [F-D6 DC TypeAB] - $1.50 : Healthcabin Electronic Cigarettes - Wholesale and Retail
eGo Steel Sleeve Cone (Type C / Type D) [F-D7 DC TypeCD] - $2.50 : Healthcabin Electronic Cigarettes - Wholesale and Retail

I have type A and type B. Both look nice with my 1000mah Twist and regular size Vivi Nova tank.

I love my Twist. I'll be buying variable voltage batteries/power sources from here on out. I love being able to find the sweet spot of each carto and juice, but not worry that I had to skip lunches for two months to buy it (like I would for some other pricier batteries).

Thanks everyone!

yep, I'm gonna get 2 650 Twists. I figure I can have one out, while one is on the charger. It shouldn't take as long for one to charge as it does to kill one, and I am always near a power source. Is there anything like a "rapid" usb charger for the twists? (I have a USB wall adapter). I know my batt's for my racecar have a quickcharger. If it love them that much, I will get a few more!! LOL .. I'm more worried about overall length of battery than how many I need to own long term.

Thanks to everyone for the sleeve/cone links!!! I had no idea what to even type in the search boxes at the sites I was at!!! LOL

I think I will try to get a Mini Nova with the 3 different heads, that way, I can just order multi-replacements in the resistance I like. When changing flavors, so you just wash them off and clean out the tank?

I think I'm gonna need to watch some youtube videos this weekend about atomizers and dripping, I still don't quite get how it all works ... but hey, I've come a long way in a month!!!

You'll like the Twists! I've been vaping for several months, and most of it has been on eGos ... at first, I got the 650mAh and 1000mAh Pass-Throughs (great for when I'm at the computer, which is most of the time!), but then I moved on to the 1000mAh Twists. I now have four of them going in rotation (3 active at any one time, 1 charging/resting), all with different flavors to suit my mood and taste. A couple of thoughts:

1. If you've been used to using the non-Twist eGos, realize the Twists are not going to give you as much vape time between charges. How much less depends on your voltage, your atomizing device, and your vaping habits. If you're chain-vaping the Twists wide open @ 4.8V with a 1.5Ω dual-coil carto, your battery life will be quite a bit less than you're used to. :)

2. As for what you put on top of your Twist, I'm using the Joye eGo-C tank system (Type A) with the replaceable atomizer heads. I get really great flavor and vapor out of them, and since they hold about 1 ml of juice, they last (me) at least a couple of hours, if not more. I also use the new VIVI NOVA Tank (version 2.5), but they have the re-buildable atomizer heads and I'm not sure I'd recommend them to a new vaper as their first tank device.

3. Don't vape your batteries until the button starts flashing for a re-charge. The sort of batteries most of us vapers use (including the eGos) don't have any "memory" like your NiCads or similar batteries; they like to be charged frequently. That's why I have four Twists in rotation ... only three are active at any one time; the other is on the charger or resting.

4. Don't leave your batteries alone while they charge (many battery failures occur either during or immediately after charging). Periodically check to see if the battery is getting hot (if so, unplug the charger and stop charging until you know what's wrong); it's OK for it to get slightly warm (they do, sometimes), but if they get noticeably warm, they may be faulty or about to fail. Batteries are cheap, so if you've got doubts, retire them and get new. (Having said all that, I've never had a genuine Joye eGo battery, Twist or otherwise, ever fail, get hot, or even get warm. They are, relatively speaking, quite safe.)

And one other item related to charging ... when the charger light turns green (indicating a full charge), take the battery off the charger. Do not leave it on the charger to "trickle charge" ... these batteries are very sensitive to over-charging; that's another reason you don't want to leave them alone when they're charging—you want to know when they're done so you can take them off the charger. Under no circumstances leave batteries on the charger overnight while you're sleeping ... major no-no!

5. Don't start vaping your Twists (or any battery, for that matter) right after they come off the charger. Batteries like to rest after a charge before they go back to work. My general rule is to let the battery rest OFF THE CHARGER (see #4) for as long as it took it to charge. So, if it takes an hour to charge, take it off the charger and let it rest for an hour before putting it back to work.

Hope some of that helped! Welcome, and keep on vapin' ...

Lamp timers. No more worries about overcharging. I think everybody should have one, but that's just me. This way you can set it to 4 or 5 hours (or whatever your normal charge time is). For less than $5, it's an awesome investment. Just don't get the kind with the red and green sliders, they give out. This type I've used for over a year, no problems.

Any eGo USB charger rated at 420ma is considered a rapid charger. MiT 420mah eGo USB Charger [gv-REG-USB-Charger-CABLE] - $5.99 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

How does the whole overcharging thing work with the battery/passthrough devices where it's a battery but can be plugged in to use while charging or used as a "passthrough"? I know that you're always actually using the battery power rather than the power coming directly from the USB cable with these so they're not true passthrough devices. Are they susceptible to the same kind of overcharging issues?

I didn't read the replies, so forgive me if this is redundant.

1 - Gotvapes sells everything you listed. They call the sleeve things "thread sleeves".

2 - I think the 1.8 ohm head works better on the Twist than the 2.4 ohm head, but I like hot vapes. If I didn't have a preference and wanted the mini vivi nova, I'd get 1 2.4 ohm head and 2 1.8 ohm heads with it…and order more of the one you like better after trying both. I don't think there's any reason to use the 2.8 or 3.2 ohm heads……they'd be really cold vapes.

3 - Despite how weird some think it looks, I like the full size vivi nova better than the mini. It holds more juice. If you get the right thread sleeve, it still looks finished and nice. And I think the tube seems better built. I own both, and I've got another full size in the mail…and no plans on buying more minis. I've got some kanger T2s coming in, and I hope they'll replace what I get out of the mini (ability to carry more of a variety of flavors without having that much bulk in my "extras" kit).

A comparison (650 twists with a full size and a mini)

The reason the one with the mini looks longer is just perspective distortion from using a 35mm lens.
