So i finally got my EVO, after a month of waiting and it's my first e-cig. First of all...VAPOR. It's insane the amount of vapor production. But I have a problem..i got a little leak in my mouth the first puffs and it's got a really weird taste, kinda minty fruity taste. I'm using zero nic tobacco carts from intellicig by the way. The atomiser area also got a little hot, but nothing too bad. So what's up with the liquid and taste though?

Also I'd like to know what to take apart, how to store it when I'm not using it.

Hi Phenom, Evo , great choice , it's a good little ecig.
The leak is normal on this sort of ecig , because the cartridge is so close to the mouthpiece/hole. You may just be sucking too hard , you only need to inhale enough to keep the LED alight anymore is wasted inhale ;). It's probably also because of it being a new cart so it's tip top with liquid. as your using 0nic its not a real problem just not very nice.
The taste is fruity-minty because the liquid is mostly PG ( propylene Glycol) which tastes sweet and the minty is because it's regular tobacco and i fing them to have a slight menthol twist too.

The evo is a 3 piece e-cig ( cartridge, atomizer and battery) the cart will pull off with a little twist and the atomizer ( the bit with 'intellicig' on it) will unscrew from the battery.

I store all my ecigs horizontally when not in use or if i have a case i'll unscrew the battery and keep it in there.

Great choice going with no nic cartridge/juice! :D If it had nicotine in it it would have been more unpleasant! If you have excessive juice in your cartridge its easy to get rid. Just remove the cartridge from the atomiser and blow sharply through the same end whilst holding a tissue to the end you use to draw. Works for me!! This is also useful if you refill the cartridges and you don't fancy messing with paperclips and such :)

Ahh! Well it seems after the first 10-20 puffs the vapor is like..dead. It's nothing like what it was before and i barely get any at all. Throat hit is also gone. What the hell happened? Atomiser seems hotter now too, did i burn it out?
It's possible to burn the atomizer out if it goes dry and you keep puffing. Change or refill the cart when vapor decreases. Don't let the atomizer go dry.

sometimes i find i loosen the battery slightly from the atomizer by accident while vaping -that interferes with the vapor production. also as the battery runs down and is almost powerless the vapor becomes nearly nonexistent.

not saying these are your problem but you never know...

i'm not "bashing" but i can't fully agree personally with the vapor dying as the battery goes down on the EVO. mine has always pumped it out right up to the end.

if your atomizer is getting hot, especially too hot to touch, give it a rest and let it cool down.

you'll start to learn the taste, but when it's low, it's sortof an empty, gross taste, like foul air, tastes a bit burnt. again, tough to explain since it's your first day, but you'll learn that taste well and know when to refill or change carts.

but yes, if you're seeing less vapor and a change in flavor, you're getting empty ;)

but back to the battery, if it wasn't a full charge as recommended, it could be that.

I had a long wait for my Evo as well, but i am very pleased with it. After a week I figured out what works best for it and now hardly ever get any liquid in the mouth. If your puffing nearly continuously then vapor does drop, and the atomizer heats up hard. Ive learned to let the unit "rest" a few min so that it cools down and new fluid wicks to the atomizer.
I hope you grow to like the Evo as much as i have ... as a note I find the mighty atom battery's perform better for me than the genie does, even though the atom doesn't last as long

Yeah that sounds about right. By the way, I have the genie batteries how long do those last and how long is a full charge through USB?

USB will charge it in about an hour. fyi, my LED on my batteries never lights up, so i just time it.

batteries last me...a long time. i don't sit and use them constantly, but i'd say i get the estimated "6 hours" of use.

honestly, there's a lot to learn with the EVO and 401 style, and honestly i'm glad i started with it, bc it seems all the other models are so much easier :) sorta like getting the most difficult one done first and out of the way.

I got mine today too. I turned a cartwheel in the front yard! :)

Gave the neighbors quite a show, LOL. I guess you can take the girl out of cheerleading, but you can't take the cheerleading out of the girl. ;)

Re: your questions - I think they've been answered pretty thoroughly by everyone else. So I have nothing to add - just wanted to share in your EVO glee. :D
