Alternatives to EVO?

I like my EVO and find it better for throat hit than my 901 or RN4072 (aka 801?) although I find the draw a lot harder. I also like it for being out and about as it looks more like a real cig than the others. But being as Intellicig (UK) seem to be having problems at the moment or are often low on stock etc, so getting new or spare parts can be difficult due to waiting times and so on, what other possibly similar models are there available in the UK?

I do appreciate that other models might not have the battery life of an EVO or may not have some other feature that the EVO is supposedly better with, but I'm a bit lost as to what might be a suitable replacement for it. Also, some of the similar models talked about on the forum here are not available in the UK, like the Pilot for instance (is that right)?

The only model I would please ask not to recommend to me is the Gamucci Micro - it's the first one I tried and it entirely died within 2 days and the seller ignored me totally afterwards...

Other than that you've got the generic M401's which don't seem to have many UK suppliers, I think Mirage is the name of one. Or if you want to order quite a few parts in one go it might be worth ordering from S'moore through their Absolutely Ecigs site.

Thanks, Papa, always good to know there's another UK seller of EVO's . As they're an authorised reseller, might that not mean that they'll also be out of some stock if Intellicig themselves are out of stock?

I just looked at the Mirage, I'm afraid it's too weeny for me though.

An alternative to the EVO needn't necessarily be an M401, especially if there are so few of them in the UK. I suppose I say "UK availability" as ordering from the US seems like it might have problems (in terms of return costs and time) if faulty parts need returning.

In general, apart from the EVO, 901 and RN4072, (and the ghastly Gamucci), what else might be available in the UK that isn't smaller? The only thing I've seen so far is the Titan from Pillbox but it seems it has a few teething issues at the moment which they apparently hope to soon sort out. Or is that all we have here?

LOL! Cross-posted (taking my time as phone rang in middle of typing) whilst you posted about the Titan! Thanks for mentioning it, I was reading all about it on your forum (all 5 pages of the topic) and thought, hmmm... might wait for that one to get itself sorted out and then try it

Any idea when the new batteries will be coming in?

The other thing I didn't quite understand was, does it have a manual or automatic switch? I've never used a manual one and am not sure I'd get used to it . Out of general interest, how does a manual switch work?

I'd cautiously recommend the Titan based on my own experiences. I think its good. But it is a few tweaks off the finished article IMO. Others seem to have had major issues with the 510. Take that as you will

The RN4081 is a solid e-cig, but if you have a 901, I wouldn't bother to be honest. Invest your cash in spare ats and bats for the 901

Sorry, I should have said I have close links to Tecc. The titan is based on the Dura so yes, there are pretty large problems hence my caveat. Thing is, if you buy it from Tecc I know that Jason will just keep replacing the parts if they break. So, if you are in the Uk that's quite quick. That being said, is it as stable as the 901's? No, can't say it is. It's quite a device when it works though and I know some people are happy with it, despite what you might read. I also know there are people that are not so happy

I would have quite happily supply other companies brands and models but I was just in a rush last night

I'm pretty happy going from sucking on the Evo to vaping the Janty KISSBox. If you're looking for a smaller size you might look at the Dura-C as well. I've never used one personally but as far as I know Janty is the only one that offers a mini with a manual switch. And Janty doesn't sell crap.

I was all about getting a Dura / 510 but I just can't see it with all of the issues they've been having with them.

Maybe once they get them sorted out.

Definitely wait on the 510... Like an idiot I bought one off Ebay because the seller said it was the new and improved 2nd generation 510. The factory date in the box said February 22nd, which was just a couple weeks ago, but I am still having the same problems people have been complaining about. Hopefully the new Dura-C will have it sorted out.

I really dont see how there would be a problem. Just plug the battery, take a saw to the atomizer side to cut two tiny notches where the battery meets and viola. Pretty sure Dura-C has it all good though. As I said, you can't go wrong with a manual switch. Plus look at all that elimination of parts as more battery space. A(tomizer)^2+B(attery)^2=(Dura-)C^2, A^2+B^2=C^2

I'll be waiting long enough for a HEAP of reviews and impressions to come out before I drop the cash on it.
