Hello fellow vapors!

I've been vaping since Sept of last year, which is also the last time I used any tobacco product. I was a moderate to heavy smoker for well over 20 years. I started with the Marb Lights, advanced to Reds, quit for a while but got back into smoking cigars. I was a big Backwoods brand Sweet&Aromatic brand. It was a very mild, vanilla cigar. I've found an excellent e-juice brand from Velvet Vapors called Vanilla Carmel Tobacco that is by far my favorite. I hope Velvet Vapors comes back online soon, I stocked up when I heard they were going offline for a while.

Anyway, I guess I'm not really a nooB, I'm more at the intermediate stage. I started with the 510 and ego stuff. I've tried a large variety of flavors from a number of places. I'm definitely at the stage where I'm ready to jump to a box mod. I'm drooling over the Ali'i, but that bad boy is one hard item to purchase, especially since I can't even send a PM on here yet. it looks like a work of art, and I've found that craftmanship is as important as performance in a device like this. I mean, you have to live with it, everyday. It's amazing how much of an attachment you make to these devices. I really love the eGo, and have a variety of batteries and colors. That bad boy is like jewelry and there are 100's of combos with colors, attys, mega attys, cones, etc etc.. that makes it such a great mod that I'll always use. And with the eGo-Tank coming out, this product will have a long life span. In any event, I'm definietly ready for a box mod but I'll probably go with a wet box for now since they seem easier to get. But I figure once I get my hands on one of those hand-crafted Ali'i or Reo masterpeices, I should be set for quite a while. I've already started moding carts, and cartos, and have a lot of ideas on improving box mods. I went from not even knowing what an e-cig was to up to my neck in juices and 510/eGo accessories, have learned all the lingo and have probably watched about 200 hours of reviews in about 3 weeks, lol. E-cigs are a miracle device that has been the only thing that has kept me away from analogs for this long, and I have tried it all (gum, patches, mints, pills, etc) and none of it has worked. I love this technology and as I spend more time building my knowledge about it, I hope to get heavily into moding and might even get into the retail end of things.

Anyway, I've rambled on too long. This is just a note to introduce myself to the community (one I've just discovered and all of you guys are great). I'm watching all the reviews and reviewers, big fan of VapeTV, and I'm very appreciative of the excellent advice found on this forum. it has helped me so much getting started and although I'm only 3 months tobacco free, I have no urge to go back and already consider myself a non-smoker and will be vaping for a long time to come. Thanks for the forum and happy vaping.

Welcome to ECF Tom. Great to hear that you gave up the stinkies. Good choice in mods but I've never owned one. I know alot of people on here love the Ali'i. Good luck to you in purchasing one. I think it's one of those mods that you are going to have to constantly be checking when they go up for sale. If you are considering a Wetbox By Missy, please use caution when using it. I've read numerous reports that if you get juice in the switch, it's dead. No other way to put it. If you go that route to tie you over, take a small piece of paper towel and poke the needle through it then insert it into the box. Paper towel will be on the inside of unit. This will help catch any drips that may occure. You may also want to check out this thread. I own 2 of these and are pretty nice. Ron backs his work which is always a plus. If you can't shoot him a PM, I'm sure someone on here will do it for you. Also, post on another 4 listings then wait on hour for the system to update. You will be able to PM then. I believe you only need 5 posts inorder to PM or post in any of the forums.

Good luck to you.

Tom, welcome! You may also want to check the MonkeyBoxx out - it's a new juice box mod and while I've never had an Ali'i or a Reo, from what I can see it feeds like them, is made of wood and very attractive and since it is so new - the waiting line is short. I have one and it's great - others who have recently recieved theirs have posted some reviews within the current thread. Just another option to consider. Glad you've joined our community.

Thanks for the advice. You definetly get what you pay for. Little quirks like those found in the Wetbox I can live with based on the price paid. It still looks like a fantastic little box that should be in everyone's collection. Yeah, one thing I learned real quick was that vapors go through A LOT of paper towels. And I don't care how careful you are, you will always get juice on your fingers. Really now..how many of you actually put on gloves when handling / mixing juices. Unless you're handling 100mg juice, I doubt very many of you have. So, like most of you I'm pretty much fed up with the constantly needing a wet paper towel nearby to get that horrible oily feel off my fingers and the constant wiping of my eGo to get off the juice marks. I think it was Grimm Green's review of the Ali'i where he mentioned that even after weeks of use, the internals were completely dry. That really impressed me and was a sign of the high level of craftmanship. I want to just grab my favorite juice, pop in in the box, throw on a LR atty and fresh battery and I'm good for up to 2 days straight. No mess, fuss, grab and go. Sounds like it's pretty close to the nirvana of vaping to me. Of course there are bigger and better ideas always around the corner, with variable voltage controls and diplays, battery options, etc etc.. but the Ali'i has covered about 90% of the features of what a perfect PV should have, imo, and ooooooo...do I want one bad :)

Yeah, I've seen the Monkeyboxx. Also an excellent mod on the same par as the Reo and Ali'i. I want em all! :)
