From May 05, 2009 and backwards for 30+ years I was a 1 1/2 pack a day smoker.
I purchased an electronic cigarette on May 06, 2009. That same day I smoked 2 more regular cigarettes. May 7th I smoked 4 total. Today (May 8th) I have smoked 2 regular cigarettes. I believe in 1 or more day I will smoke none. I have about 6 regular cigarettes left and have vowed to purchase no more.
In only 2 1/2 days I have already started to breathe easier and feel much better with much more energy. My smokers cough has deminished to almost no cough at all.
I initially had serious doubt about the e-cig, I am now a firm believer. I have STOPPED SMOKING!
This device is AWESOME!

Good for you!

I have smoked for 40 years. Last November 2008 I saw my brother-in-law die of lung cancer (he had smoked, stopped for 15 years, then restarted one year before his death). He was 57 (I am 53, soon 54).

Even his death did not stop me from smoking. I did 'cut down'. I was prescribed that pill, but it gave me bad side effects. I chewed gum, but I only smoked while chewing.

These electronic cigarettes have been a God-send. A pack of 'analogs' (to use the word for 'real cigarettes' here; it took me several days to figure out why people here called them analogs) now last a week. Indeed, even while drinking booze I find myself putting out the analog half way through. I have not 'completely quit', but I am easily down to 2 per day.

I esmoke: Npro Njoys (my 'casual' smoke); DSE 810 (for more intense smoking) and Red Dragon (when drinking, only the biggest smoke will do).

I have been cig free for 1 month and 22 days. I only vap now. this is the longest I have not smoked since I was in 7th grade. I am forty now. i was smoking a pack a day. I feel better and smell so much better. I have made a vow not to smoke a cig ever again. I refuse to do somthing that I have to pay for with to much taxes and no rights to smoke anywhere. I also feel that vaping is better for me. Is vaping safe I do not know for sure, but it is safer than smoking. Of the FDA bans this I will still do it. thank god for the web( you can get anything you need)

Heh- another close to 40 year smoker here now off and vaping and feeling better. I think the only reason they might ban the things is to keep up the tax revenue from analogs- which is fricking ridiculous- I remember when I started analogs were a quarter a pack. Let's see... the price has increased 24 fold?

I was so sick of the excessive "sin" tax on analogs; here in Ohio Cuyahoga county added a 30 cent a pack tax to support art museums. Museums I couldn't smoke in, to boot.

I think I'll hold a vape-in at the local museum ;-)
