Hello folks,
I have been lucky that quitting cigarettes was instant and painless as soon as I got my ego about six weeks ago. Recently I wanted to take a small step out into some other hardware but not spend much money. Also worth noting is that I only drip and I de-bridge all of my atomizers as soon as I get them.

Trying different voltages/resistances seemed like a good place to start. I picked up some low resistance atomizers and a 5 volt direct passthrough. I have to say I love them both. The low res atty's on my ego are great. More vapor, more flavor, bigger throat hit.

I am running the 5 volt passthrough off of my powered USB hub using standard resistance 501 atty's and I've had no problems so far. The passthrough is similar to the low res atty/ego combo but turned up even more. Just perfect for me.

I think I may be a 5 volt convert. I wanted to post this for any new comers looking to branch out a bit without spending a bunch to experiment.

Low res attys are about $8 each and the passthrough was about $13.

Smart decision to start considering better PV's. Better throat hit, better consistency, longer battery life and much less expensive batteries. A good 5 volt PV is the GLV2 (5 volt version) from: Electronic Cigarettes and E-Liquid - Great Lakes Vapor . However, you might want to check into the big advance in vaping which is variable volt PV's such as the Darwin from nhaler.com or the ProVari.
