Yeah, I know, big deal. But it sort of is to me, this being my first attempt at building any mod and nd my first 5V device I've ever used, I'm pretty excited :). Lovin' 5V, brought all my old 2.5 ohm and higher attys back to life! It's a kit from mad vapes. Can't beat it for $13!

See my facebook photo's if you're interested in how it came out. I was more than suprised after making that final solder that everything works. It's pretty tidy, varying color LED works, 5V is kicking like wild on the vapor production. Think I found a new hobby.

Nice work Lugnut! Welcome to 5v, and modding. The mod looks nice.

P.S. 5v... It saved my bacon.... more like a real cig hit. Keeps me vaping rather than "falling back" to smoking. Hope it works well for you too. Now, stock up on those batteries! lol. (I even built a 5 v PT - even easier since USB is already 5 volts... no regulator required. Just a 2.0 amp wall wart. Failsafe plan).

Oh LOL...Truly that would only prevent other vendors from selling VV units right? I mean, that WOULD suck, and one day I hope to afford a Provari, but modders are all well and safe.

I'm actually pretty ticked about this one and I was considering a buzz darnit!!

Getting a little more adanced now. I just completed a variable voltage mod I made out of a converted Motorola Walkie Talkie. The internals are DIY parts from Mad Vapes, including a variable voltage regulator, which is controlled by what used to be the volume knob on the radio. Pics are below. I'm still waiting on a 510 connector to complete the project, but checked all the electronics and it's looking good. Adustment voltage is 3.4 V to 4.6V.
