My First and Second wood mod

Howdy, first time posting here.
I just finished building two wood mods. Inspired by "touchwoods" and "ecig workshop", I thought I'd try my hand at it.
They are simple 3.7, all the parts were bought at mad vapes. I really had a lot of fun doing them and I really like the wood feel. I'm hooked.

Awesome! My dad does woodwork for a living so I think I'm gonna give something like this a try myself. I've made several mods, but never anything that looked too pretty. lol.

They look really very nice! The pics are a little blurry when I blow them up so I can not see all the detail. Anyway, I wish I had your talent, keep up the good work!

Thank You. The woodworking I can do, getting all the parts inside was a bit of a struggle. Both work really well, just not very neat on the inside. Good practice for the next one.

good looking mods there, you have some real talent! keep up the good work woodboy! I have one question, what kind of wood did you use on these and did you stain them or use oil, shellac or poly?
ps, I like the smiley face button

The smiley faced one is Amazak, the other is Bubinga, both with a piece of Indonesian walnut. The finish is just a couple of coats of mineral oil rubbed in by hand and buffed with a soft cloth. Gives it a bit of protection and a nice warm glow.

I love the smiley face one, the shape is very intriguing. How comfortable is it to hold and activate?

Same with the half-moon shape of the other one, it's a good concept though I'm not sure button placement is ideal on that one

Killjoy1, actually both are very comfortable. smiley can be used face out or face in, both ways are comfy. as to the comma shape, it fits neatly in either hand and the button is pushed using the second or third finger, very natural.

SammyT, I am a self employed woodworker, for the last 20 years have built furniture and also repair/restore antiques. The wood came from the pile of " no don't through it out, you might use it some day"
