I'm strictly a menthol junkie. My wife and kids say my breath ( and the vapor ) smells minty fresh.....but they can only smell it if they walk through a cloud I have just exhaled.

I can smell a little, almost like an "aftertouch" in my nose on exhale, but other than that I can't really smell it unless I cup my hand in front of my face and exhale into it. None of the juices I've tried so far have a lingering smell that I or my roommate have noticed. I'm loving the clove juice I got from ELP last week - I can finally enjoy the taste of cloves without stinking up the whole world for days afterward.
I can't smell my own vape, but I can smell my sister's when she vapes certain flavors, usually fruits, and they smell good. Way better than dead Pall Malls

my girlfriend always complains about the smell when i am vamping, doesn't matter what flavour!
My kids are SO happy that even a vape that doesn't smell sweet is a winner with them , but I have had people comment on it smelling like a freshly extinguished candle lol .
I was vaping in the car and my husband who quit a yr ago and my son and his girlfriend who smoke analogs said that it smelled bad, like soured milk, I thought that this certain juice did smell a little funny but it taste great. So later that evening I was vaping it in the bedroom and went out to get a drink and when I came back I could smell soured milk too, so I don't vape it inside anymore. Then again I was at a concert outside Sat. nite and this girls says what are you smoking, I told her an e-cig and she said that it smelled just wonderful and did I mind if she stood behind me so she could smell it some more? So go figure each juice has it's own taste and it's own smell!
I use to get the "it smells like maple syrup" from my family all the time, but I guess they have gotten use to it. Wife stills thinks it (and myself) still smell better than anologs.
Oh I had one interesting experience with "odor comments" as well. Once, hubby and I were in a public place in our village, both vaping ... me the mild sweet vanilla-like stuff, but he, of course as a tobacco addict a strong cigar-like liquid. That was a non-smoking facility basically, and nobody thought our vaping was offensive with MY kind of nice smells. Until he unpacked his huge Bulli Extreme (a german made unit) and started to happily vape away his Cuban Supreme..... Immediately one lady walked up to him and said: What are you doing there? Are you SMOKING??? Well, we explained to her that no... and the whole story. But his vapor smell gave him away.... They didn't mind my "nice" vapor though....
I've only gotten complaints about tobacco juices, lucky for me I almost never vape them.
I've found it best to leave tobacco flavors at home if we're going out. In restaurants, I'll only vape unflavored.
