It looks like I'm in the minority, but I have noticed an odor both in my car and when I open the box that I keep my juices in. It's hard to describe it-it's certainly not as bad as cigarette smoke, but it's annoying.
Any flavoring has a smell like candy flavors if you pour it on a napkin or smell the bottle you may smell the flavor, but with most e-juice, when you exhale the vapor there is little to no odor. The only one I vape that my wife can smell is cinnamon.

I was at the dentist and my hygienist said here I'll take your purse and put on the table so I hand her my bag and she puts it on the counter and said whats that smell I said I don't know she cleans my teeth and hands me back my purse and she saids again whats that smell I'm like I don't know whats it smell like she said it kinda like a coffee drink you know the kind with caramel and whipped cream and its coming from your purse. I just started grinning I had 2 Reo grands in there one with filled with kona cream the other filled with caramel cream. I haven' notced any film on anything I don't think the vapor leaves a smell but e-juice does

Nothing I have vaped for quite a while leaves a film although I had experienced it when I used a higher VG mix.

As far as the scent issue is concerned, it isn't a heavy scent that lingers on forever. It is more of an effect similar to an air freshener. Once you open the windows, it dissipates.

Just my experience....
