I tend to go with high VG for the vapor production, but it definitely causes wicking problems in my 510 carts. PG, on the other hand, seems more prone to leaking. I probably do about 40% VG now. You might shoot for 20-30%, from what I've read on this forum.

I have the same problem with supplies that don't list PG/VG content on the labels. I gather that over time we'll be able to make reasonable guesses by the viscosity of the liquid, PG being thinner. But I'm not quite there yet.

No and yes.

Do you know how much flavoring to add to make juice that works for you?

Is your nic as inexpensive as your plain PG & VG?

If your mix tastes like moldy sweat socks will you dump it or try to corrrect it?

I always suggest starting small and no nic. Find a flavoring, PG, and VG mix that works. (Keep good notes). After you find something vapable then sum the note and work it up with nic.

Usually costs less to chuck a no nic and less difficult to track the final nic content on one that has been worked on.

It's my first time so I don't know. I want to add the lowest effective amount.

Sure. I would mix a small test amount so I don't waste all of my supplies.

I'm working with 24mg nic in 100% PG.

BigLou -

I'd suggest getting Breaktru's eJuice Me Up calculator. This is the easiest calculator to use and makes it quick to come up with the ratios for everything.

Also, I use 70PG/30VG, but it's up to you if you want more vapor or more flavor. You could start with 50/50 or 60/40 (the first number is always PG).

Thanks Hoosier for responding.
I'll try a little vodka. Just b/c I already have some.
I can already tell that it was the PG base that I was using last time that made everything disgusting ( although I can vape the premade stuff).
I opened up my Christmas gift that I knew was the nicotine and have already started to dissolve some EM.
I'll wrap it back up. No one will know.

Ah, well, in my experience, switching the way you vape it really has a huge effect on taste of the mix.

I have one recipe that I only use in my cartos as it bites too hard in my LR attys. (Higher resistance in the carto). Also mix fruit flavors differently for standard and LR attys.

Darn near crazy to test in cartos though...

Loaded a LR carto and it was very harsh, like burning newspaper.

Is that newspaper taste from the PG?

Probably not wicking quickly enough to keep from overheating. When the juice vaporizes, the vapor droplets transfer heat out of the carto. Thin juices work best, especially in LR cartos which run hotter.

I've gotten some cartos with too-tightly-wrapped filler which didn't wick well. After the first drag or two they started to get a burnt taste.
