Opened up my ultimate ultimatum package once I got home and was very pleased with just about everything.

A couple questions:

I fear that I may have selected to high of a nicotine level (18mg). During/after inhaling my throat begins having a burning sensation. Normally I smoke Camel Lights. Was wondering if this is the cause?

Also, do the batteries come pre-charged? Or should I give them their first charge before vaping?

My temporary solution.. Since it's too harsh to inhale each hit, I inhale a first and the next couple pulls I don't inhale that way I get much more vapor.

Looking forward to any advice.
Thanks.

From what I understand, the batts are partially charged when they arrived to you (except for the new shorties). But plug them in and they should be fully charged in as little as 20 minutes (if you have the std length batts).

I was a Camel turkish Silver smoker. The 18mg and 24mg gave me coughing fits at first. Then I got used to 18mg. The 24 was too much for me. After using 18mg and 12mg for a month, I'm now dropping down to 8mg and 12mg.

I found it a bit difficult to get used to also. My solution is to take one small sip hold it under my tongue, inhale it, then repeat 2 more times so I can get a good exhale vapor. Also, I have to go to 11mg when I use the passthrough.
HTH!

Just got my Vapor King and all my gadgets yesterday. Tonight I am heading to a party. To carry them with me, do I take the cartomizer off (so it will fit in case - taking both regular case and portable charger case) and then do I need to put the little plastic stopper back in the cartomizer plus the two plastic end caps??????

You will need to take the cartomizer off so that it fits in the case(s). I take the stopper and end caps of the one(s) that I'm using and leave them on the unused ones so I know the difference. I take one end cap off of the ones that I've tried once.
Have fun at the party!

My first couple of days with an ecig were interesting to say the least. I didn't know if I was going to be able to deal with it or not, but I persisted. I coughed when I inhaled for awhile but it stopped. My mouth go so dry I thought I was lost in the Sahara. Drink lots of water and fluids when first starting out. I got chapped lips. LOL Then I got lightheaded because I was getting oxygen instead of combusted material into my lungs. After a week, everything was fine. I got down to a couple of analogs a day for the first month and completely analog free for 44 days now.

The first few days are not all smooth sailing for everyone, some take to it like a duck to water, for others, it's a little bit tougher. But hang in there with the VK and soon you will be happy as a clam. :)

Some people toss their analogs the moment they pick up the VK, others smoke for awhile, then quit, and yet others, continue smoking and use the ecig as a way to cut down.

It's different for everyone.

Hey - thanks guys!!! I love this site - everyone has always been so quick to answer me. I went with the Vapor King and ordered from Steve because I could tell from this site that EVERYONE was happy with the service!!! So am I!!!! I had people tell me that I would like the flavors better than the tobacco - boy were they right!!! Of course, I only half listened - ordered some tobacco but have found already that I will be ordering tomorrow or the next day on the flavors!!!! Since this was my first e-cig (except for a nasty tasting disposable called No7 - but that did give me the confidence that with the RIGHT e-cig I could do this) I was just going to order the cheaper starter kit. Then, the more I looked and contemplated, decided for the extra $20 (and for us "hopefully" ex analog smokers, what is $20!!!) it seemed stupid not to get the full kit with the pass-thru and everything. Boy, am I glad I did - and would recommend going that way to anyone who is planning to do this!!!! I am currently in an RV park with still quite a few smokers. I have a feeling that I could cause an absolute "riot" of questions tonight when I show up with my Vapor King!!!!!! Beware Steve!!! I sent you an email today - didn't know if I should hand out your cards (with your phone number on them or not) probably better to just give people the email site!!!! Thanks again, guys!! You have always been so helpful answering my questions - and I'm sure I will have a lot more since I just got this yesterday!!!!!!

Hi and welcome. Glad you're liking your V4L kit.

Vaping is really different from smoking, and it takes a little time to get used to it. Most of my smoker friends can't vape on my VK without coughing (a lot). I take very long, slow drags and don't cough at all. but in the beginning I did. So I think you just need a breaking-in period is all.

I was a 2 pack/day lites smoker, and I found the 11 and 18mg didn't satisfy my nic craving. So I upped it to 24 and 36mg in the beginning, mostly 24mg. Now I'm backing it down to 11 and 18mg cartos.

The higher strength cartos do have a sharper throat hit, but I needed the extra nicotine in the beginning. I actually like the strong throat hits, because to me it feels more like smoking. But some people don't want that harshness.

The other big difference I found was that the vapor feels a lot warmer than cigarette smoke ever did, and that might be contributing to the cough as well. I suggest you just vape for a few days before making any changes. Then you can decide if it was just part of the learning curve, or if you need to lower or raise the nicotine level.

Again, welcome to our little fan club. :)

Welcome! I'm glad it's working out for you.

We have a great bunch of people on her and V4L is the absolute best.

didn't know if I should hand out your cards (with your phone number on them or not) probably better to just give people the email site!!!!

Steve & Mark encourage handing out the cards (as any business owner should). They've sent me a bunch. Most of them are now in the possession of a dear friend of mine that I set up with the VK. Ok, he's my barber. I think a lot people will see him using his VK and ask about it. :)

I would take my PCC with a charging battery and 2 cartos tucked inside, and then have the battery with carto that you will be vaping. That way if your battery runs out on the one you are vaping, you can just switch it with the charged battery. And if carto goes dry or you want to switch flavors, you have extras to choose from. Really the PCC case and the vk you are vaping on should be all you need for a night out.

Welcome! Good tips already about drinking enough water and hanging in there. You might step down the nic on your next order and see if that helps, but changing the way you draw might help too, there is a bit of a learning curve. Slow and easy draws work best, especially with the auto batteries (don't know which you have). If you have autos take a quick hard primer puff and follow it with a long, slow and easy draw. Hold the vapor in your mouth as you draw, then inhale it all at the end of the draw.

If you have the manuals, no primer puff is needed, just take a nice slow draw into your mouth and then inhale at the end of the draw.

See if working on your style of inhaling helps, it has helped others. ;) And again, welcome!

Thanks everyone, all your suggestions were very helpful..

After spending a full day using the VK I can say that I just needed to get used to it... Now I'm not really feeling that burning/harshness..

Hung out with a couple of friends tonight, normally we would go through 2 packs collectively in one night.. but tonight was different in that we only went through maybe 5 cigarettes. They were so stoked about getting to try out my new toy that I barely had any time to use it, haha.

Was able to convince the both of them to order their own sets. Its really good knowing that I'm not the only one so excited about these things.

Thanks again for all the help!
