Thank you everybody for the kind words! I am amazed at how many replies the thread got, just goes to show the ECF is a pretty great place to be!
And since it is Ok to mention brands, the expensive ecig I got was from Green Smoke. I dropped $85 for a short battery, 5 cartos, a USB cig, and USB/AC charger. It didn't take me long to find out that this is a pretty hefty price compared to DIY, but live and learn right?
The funny thing is, even with the hefty price of Green Smoke, in the long run its still a better deal than analogs since a 20 pack of cartos (which is only slightly more expensive than a carton of analogs) is likely equivalent to about 2-3 cartons of analogs. But the DIY is the infinitely better (and cheaper) way to go.
To go into a little further detail, I was a Marlboro Menthol (regular green pack, not the blue ones) smoker for about 8 years now. I was at about 1 pack a day (it was slightly less, but very close). I chose the menthol (2.4% nic) flavor from Green Smoke, I figure I could start high on the nic level and see how it works for me. The taste isn't quite like my green pack analog menthols, its more like the blue pack menthols. It's still amazingly good, but not exactly what I was looking for. The throat hit however is MUCH more intense than my analogs, which really surprised me. I was almost to the point of coughing on a regular sized hit. Could that be because of the nic level, or is this how all ecigs tend to feel? GS uses a PG/VG mix, so perhaps that is why?
As for my Joye 510 purchase, I ordered from Liberty Flights, so far the service and shipping have been exceptional, and I got a whopping 20% discount when using the ECF code! I got all pretty basic stuff, a couple of batteries (autos), a couple atomizers, a 5 packs of blank carts, a USB charger, and 30ml of LF's menthol blend (which has tobacco flavor in it, which people say is more like analog menthols). And I am really looking forward to testing out the Joye 510 setup against my GS that I am using now.
But wow, I just can't help but buy more and more and more, there is so many neat things to try with ecigs! Although I have to keep it minimal because I absolutely do not have the money to spare.
By the way, has anybody ever tried this mod with their 510's? I was thinking of trying it out. (http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/experiments-equipment/46125-i-call-adp-mod-auto-drip-mod.html)
