My husband and I heard about e-cigs on a talk radio program so decided to look into it. After only a day of looking I decided to order a cheap e-cig called a Health e-Cigarette along with some e-liquid. After 4 days it arrived and all I could think was "I hope this works!" (Bear in mind I have been a smoker for over 20 years, up to 2 to 2 1/2 packs a day, and tried everything to get off analog cigarettes.)

Open the package, ok looks like a fake cigarette. Read the instructions. Ok sounds simple enough. Charged up one of the batteries. Took my first vape and almost cried. It was ok, but wasn't enough for me. Ok maybe I am just not giving it enough of a try. Stayed with it for 3 days and found myself going back to my analogs over and over. Why? Well wasn't a big enough nicotine hit, didn't remind me of smoking a cig, and the batteries died way too fast.

Hold on....
I decided to research more (thank you everyone for this wonderful and very informative forum site, it was a godsend!) and more (kept thinking I had to be doing something wrong). After much research into models, liquid etc, I decided to order a Titan 510 and some 36 mg liquid (kicking myself looking back that I didn't order this the first time). Went back to analogs while waiting for my next package, with only occasional vaping to try to make myself go longer between analogs.

Order arrives 5 days later. Open it up, very impressed with the packaging and look of the e-cig. Charge it up. Blow out the atomizer to rid as much primer as possible (tip learned here). Pop on a self filled 36mg cart (learned how to here). Started vaping. OMG got the nicotine hit, so strong I could feel it, and so much vapor, it felt like the real deal without the nasty smell of one. My opened pack of analogs sat on my desk for the rest of the day without being touched. I also never got grumpy or moody according to my teenage daughter.

Next morning I wake up and stopped myself from going for the analogs, instead went for the e-cig. Got my morning nicotine hit and felt very good, kept at it all day dropping down to a 24mg strength, with the occasional 36mg drip to get those fixes that need a bad scratch, after my first nicotine fix. And I threw away the analogs without even a second thought.

I have now been vaping happily for three days! I also noticed I can start smelling things better, my slight cough has started to disappear, and I am still not the slightest bit moody or craving a normal analog. My teenager is tickled pink with me and with what the e-cig has done to get me off analogs.

If anyone reading is curious about these things my two cents would be research it a lot and if your a heavy smoker like I was buy a good model and not a cheapy. I am not regretting switching to an e-cig and I think everyone in my family/friends who will listen will be convinced to switch with a demo.

To the forum's posters and mods etc THANK YOU! if not for all the highly informative info here I probably wouldn't have given it a second chance and would still be killing myself with analogs.

For the first time in my life I think I might just be able to wean myself off nicotine and if not well this is way better then analogs!

Now debating ordering a PCC or a passthrough...LOL!

Thanks for your good story. Many of us get frustrated that some on this forum still steer new vapers to inferior, frustrating and inconsistent devices such as the first one you bought or the Blu or the SmokeEverywhere 4081. I'm sure many people just gave up and went back to analogs.

Good for you for continuing to research and getting a good PV like the 510.

I did the same thing..a bad first one and a 901 for my second! The first 3 days with the 901 I had 2 analogs a day, the 4th day I forgot to go outside for one..I have been analog free for over 4 months now. I started with 18mg and it was too much for me, I am down to 11mg to 0nic and doing fine. I love vaping!

I got my first pv a week ago, maybe a little longer...I ordered a 901, which I like, but I think I should have ordered a higher nic level because I'm having trouble passing on the analogs when they are available. My husband is a smoker too so even if I don't buy a pack, he usually has one. I placed a new order for higher nic and I want to try a 510 manual, so I ordered that kit too. I'm too invested in wanting to quit analogs, and I can tell from my 901 that this could work for me if I keep looking for the right flavor and level for me. So uplifting to hear your story...I've been thinking whether I did the right thing placing the second order and do I just want to give up the vaping...but no, I don't. There's so many things I like better about it. I just haven't found my perfect fit yet. Thanks for sharing!
