Is this by definition a mech or not??? I know for it to be a mech it must not have any kind of electronics but does wire count or not??
not as fancy as some high end mods but great for an apocalypse

Believe it or not, but I've actually done something similar. I was a bit intoxicated, but it was functional. On a side note, I never thought I'd be able or even want to reference this thread, but it has actually been relevant twice now...
And it is definitely a mech mod; in the most raw, no-nonsense, we don't need no stinking switches kind of way. Vape on brother, but don't do it bare foot on concrete...
I like the minimalist/survivalist approach... Also, you'd be the first to know if the batt goes thermal...

I managed to make a mech switch for it today
It works ok but a little stiff I just used one of the extra springs that I got in my second zmax bottom cap after ruining 2 of my kids toys trying to take out their spring

You are my new official hero. My old one was MacGyver so you have some very adaptive shoes to fill.
I've now changed the format from a 18490 to 18650, made the walnut sleve and I'm getting closer to the final product!
here is the wooden tube with the exposed switch
my idea here is to trim a few mm from the sides and make a stainless sleeve to get rid of the wooble
and this sleeve will also function as a safety switch
