This is a battery charger for cell phones and iPods (anything that's uses USB). At first I tried wiring to where I took off the USB port so that could use the master on/off switch that was on it. But for some reason I couldn't get juice out of it. So I ended up just using the wires from the batter that went to the upper board. Th lower board is still there so it can still charge the battery via USB, or just run it that way like a pass-through. Really all I used was the Duracell charger that I got from Wal-Mart awhile ago (never used it) and took it apart and wired up a switch (from a hand held bug zapper I had taken apart) and hit glued everything in there. Then I super glues the case back together and used some Gorilla Glue on the inside to hold the adapter in [place after carving out a spot in the plastic. Also there is a hole right below the copper colored piece on the front so the battery can vent.

It works awesome, I'm going to test it to see what voltage it's putting out by itself and tell you guys how long it last on one charge, I will tell you it makes almost as much vapor as my Prodigy V2.

I'm not a battery guy so maybe some can tell me if this is good or not, on the back it says this- "Input: 5v 0.8a max / Output: 5v 0.6a 3w max / Capacity: 1150mAh

Here are some pictures, sorry they aren't that good of picture because my camera sucks :)

Here is the insides before I put it back together:

Hooked up to the USB with an LED to tell you when it's charged.

Hope you guys like it... let me know what you think, I will post later on what the voltage readings are after I go to thw shop and test it.

I'd post my comments but my eyesight's so bad from being soooo OLD I can't see it! :p
You must be old if your still misinterpreting that post... you must not be able to read all the post where I explained what I was saying and how everyone twisted it into something it was not. Oh well, I'll say it again then, I'm sorry if you are AN OLD LEGISLATOR THAT VOTES TO BAN E-CIGS because that's what I was saying. I keep re-reading it and that's all I get from it.

If your just joking then that was a good one... :)

Very cool mod ! here is one of my Mods it's a Duracell as well

yeah I've seen that on the chuck website... looks pretty cool and it reminded me of my mod too, that's funny you thought of it as well. :)

That's pretty sweet. I'd ignore the output ratings you posted as you are coming off the batt. The batt should give 3.7V and 1150mAh is a nice size and the charging aspect is definite plus.

Can't tell from your pics if a decent (at least 2A) switch would fit in though.

Yeah I like the switch that I put in it but I don't know if it will last because is just one of those tiny square switched you find in a lot of small devices. Oh and the Chuck onlky uses that $1.50 switch from radio shack and it's only 0.5 amp.

Willy the output ratings weren't off the battery they were on the device itself, don't know if that makes a difference.

EDIT:

Just checked it when fully charged it runs at 4.2 volts. So it probably does drop down to about 3.7 when under load or after using it for awhile and the battery settles from a fresh charge.

It does not. There are many switches that look similar, it doesn't mean they are.

One of many. Note 3A.

Digi-Key - 450-1428-ND (Manufacturer - MSP103B04)

Oops... sorry my mistake I thought it did because it looked that way. I thought that was a fine switch anyways I don't know anything about how many amps this or that, I just make and fix things :)

I like it! Great idea; perfect size to carry and stelth vaping and winner being PT too.
You should post instructions! It is really good.
I really don't need to post instructions, you can follow this persons guide (it's really the same thing just different brand and size charger) go this webpage and scroll down a little to find the guide he made:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/battery-mods/41398-best-5v-mini-usb-pass-through-2.html

It says it's 5volts but it really is only 3.7v battery like mine, except mine is 1150 mAh and that one is like 250 or 400 mAh.

Yeah it is pretty small as you see in my hand. It is really flat too, the adapter barely fit in if that gives you any idea of how flat and slick it is. It would be perfect in your pocket. And I didn't think of this until after I made it but there is enough room where I put the adapter in the top to move the adapter over and put a switch right next to it and it wouldn't fire in your pocket!!! It would be really neat.

nice, mang! it might be 5volts when its hooked up on a 5v power adapter! i have one of this
Portable USB Power Charger 2800mAh for iPod / iPhone 3G - eBay (item 320436143092 end time May-12-10 22:33:50 PDT) but it does not work as a PT :(

That's a good on though. Nice mAh rating and 1 amp output is better then mine.

EDIT:

Even after using it for 20 mins strait it is still pushing 4.14 volts. This thing is pretty nice and I think it will last quite awhile on one charge.

it has like tons of adapters. the one on the battery/box is regular usb. i wanted to use my PT on the go with it but the damn thing is worthless. i dont think it has 1A output like it states. PT flashes and do nothing... :(

What we are asking is does it have a mini usb that goes into it to charge it? At least that's what I was asking.

I like it. If I'm ever up in nowheresville I'll be able to identify you by your duracell.

LOL... that's for sure, it's hard to find nowwhereville... but if you spot The Duracell you'll know your there.

I'm in the process of turning it into just a 5v pass-through with no battery. I will have it done in just awhile I'll keep you posted on how it goes.
