Be forewarned......it's VERY addictive and can easily become an enjoyable hobby!

Well, Im getting closer to taking the leap...

Bought these this weekend and getting up the nerve to chosing one and crushing it, and covering it up in VG.

Looks like a good start! Is there a particular reason you want to use VG as the extraction solvent? It's very difficult to gravity filter.

Well I have only extracted one thing and that was some Earl Grey tea leaves. Only reason I figured Id use VG is because I use mostly VG. I guess using PG will be fine, since all the DIY flavors I use are PG based.

Should I use something else? And sorry, I think I understand gravity filter but in aquarium uses.

If you decide that your NET is a bit too gunky, you might want to pick up some filter paper or filter felt. Using them can significantly reduce gunking issues extending the life of coils and wicks. A typical coffee filter only retains particles around 30 microns in diameter and larger. For better performance, I would recommend filtering your tobacco extracts around 2 - 3 microns.

Gravity filtering a PG based extract through 2 - 3 micron filter paper can take all day and that's if it's plenty warm, >75F. A VG based extract would require mechanical assistance (vacuum or positive pressure).

Here's a link to some pre-folded 2.5 micron filters, price is for a box of 100; http://www.amazon.com/dp/B006H8WMFU/ref=biss_dp_t_asn

Here's a link that shows how to fold filter paper to fit/use in a funnel; http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=7&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CDYQtwIwBmoVChMIv4rH8o_vxwIVSpeACh0zfgQg&url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ykmTxRpRRCw&usg=AFQjCNH6Us3W3XRttyXtFORQ0BxOgukRYQ&sig2=OeXAO0LxxtROkNu1-OFh0w

Several people have cut filter paper to fit their Aeropress and reported good results, just something else to consider. Would require a much smaller filter diameter which would be less expensive.

THANK you so much. This information will come in very handy. I think Im going to give it a go...

I was going start with one whole cigar, but Im thinking I should do half of one of them. The H.Upman smells like heaven.

Thanks for all the tips and encouragement. I LOVE tobacco. :)

Yep, we "currently" have many choices when it comes to retail juice, supplies, gear and etc. I have certainly enjoyed our "golden age", and sampled hundreds of retail offerings from dozens of vendors over the past few years. However, all of that is about to change. Over the next five years the "golden age" of vaping will end. Be sure to enjoy the freedoms we currently have, while we still have them. I too will be shopping Black Friday sales, there are several retail flavors I like to blend with my extracts and a few new ones I'd like to try. :thumb:
