Nickel coil wrapping newbie here...

I acquired an istick TC40 this weekend to experiment with nickel builds. Wrapping them has not been the hassle I was lead to believe it would be, so overall, I'm pleased.

I am wondering how does one handle cleaning a nickel coil when it's time for re-wicking? Even using 28ga, the coils are so delicate that scrubbing them seems unlikely, and I've found dry burning in wattage mode is not possible because the mod won't fire it due to low resistance.

So does one just scrap a nickel build when it gets gunky or am I missing something?

I've heard that people straighten them, wipe it off and re coil. I paid less than $8 shipped for 100 feet of 28awg Ni200, so I just trash them. I've heard dry burning is a no-no with nickel...
This^^

It is easier and faster (and maybe safer) to just make another coil than hassle with trying to clean one.
