ahhhhh so so excited I wasn't *really* expecting it till tues and the stupid USPS never updated their tracking until i got an email saying it had arrived already!

first time vaping, first time using V4L...
vaping one of the clove carts--def much diff than a djarum but i LOVE it. so very very glad i chose y'all.

i love everything about it... the guys put in a set of cognac carts (really delicious, hubs is vaping one now!) and an XL silver batt as a freebie (awesome there cause i was gonna be stuck with the PT only since the rest is hub's b-day gift!)...

seriously it's fantastic, everything about it... SO SIMPLE. all i can say is wow. wow. WOW. i was so not trying to get my hopes up that it'd get here before xmas... thank you SO much guys!!!!!

just ...... i bought a carton of newports yesterday, lmao.

Hi! I want to make a disclaimer: I don't want to hijack your thread, but I can't start my own threads. Since our experiences seem to be very similar...

Yeah! I just received my VK yesterday and am brand new to vaping as well. ITA. I, too, wasn't expecting mine till after Xmas just b/c IK how USPS can be during Xmas week. I may be only a vaper for a day but so far I love it, too. Actually, I think I like this better. I can get TH off of this akin to what I used to get from my Kool Non-filters (well at least with a 36 mg Cool carto)!

I, too, feel the joy! :D

I also would like to show great gratitude to V4L for having wonderful speedy service and the free cartos that were included in my order as well. This has been a great experience and I look forward to more.

Glad to see others feeling like this! I usually don't get so hyped up but I rly do think that vaping will be my main delivery for nicotine. I actually gave up "analogues" (LOL) Mon before my unit arrived (snuff is nice), but I really don't see me ever smoking one again. :)

lindsay, don't worry about hijacking, it's great to share the first-timer excitement. :D

i can't believe i still haven't had a cigarette since i got this. i mean no doubt i've had LOTS of nicotine (lol), but i've tried plenty of NRT and it never, ever, ever was like... *better* than smoking. (i mean, of course, healthwise it was but... not wanting to kill-someone-wise it wasn't, lol).

i've noticed that the other flavors i've tried taste *really* similar to me--the clove i love, the others are all pleasant but taste really the same. however, i think that might be me tasting the... PG or something? or not that but like, getting used to the way vaping *in general* tastes. so i'm thinking in a few days i will be able to taste them better, i hope. still *thrilled* though... it's not a complaint only an observation!

Welcome! Same story for lots of us, thanks to V4L. I too quit analogs the minute my UU kit arrived -- and I hadn't intended to quit! Just thought they might help me cut back.

As others have said, and my still-smoking friends don't quite get, vaping is simply a lot more FUN than smoking -- in addition to being healthier, not obnoxious to others, tastier, completely customizable in terms of flavor and strength, etc.

Plus the all-important "cool" factor.

Welcome, Belletrist!

Your taste buds may take some time to recover. When they do, you'll find that the flavors taste different. You may also find that your favorite flavors change. It's all good.

Belle - For once my knack for useless trivia may come in handy!

Clove oil has a component known as Eugenol. Eugenol is actually a mild anesthetic. IDK if the clove flavouring really contains clove oil but if it does this may explain why some of the flavours afterwards seem dull. I found this out after wondering why it seemed so much harder to sing after smoking a kretek (yum!)

OTOH, I've only tried 2 flavours (Cool and French Pipe) and they are wildy different vaping or not. I do plan on ordering a variety of flavours so I'll get some clove the next time and see. :)

Thank you all for the warm welcome!

Taryn - TY for clarifying this! I guess I need to read the rules again.

Lindsay who is still happily vaping

linds, yeah, i know about the anesthetic properties of cloves... actually one of the things i love about them, lol. but i smoked cloves for years and while i'm sure that it has dulled my taste buds considerably this seems more than that. but again, not complaining, i think it's just an adjustment.

robert, i dunno about the cool factor, but the fun factor i'm def on board with. :D & yeah... i mean i had the hope in the back of my mind maybe i could quit with this but not *really*... however since receiving i've only had 1/2 an analog in almost 24 hours. and that only because this morning i just couldn't stop thinking about an actual smoke (1st cig of the day and all)... but it wasn't that great so i just put it out.

also, i think that since i am used to v. strong flavors when smoking (djarums & newps) and not 'sweet' flavors (well, djarums are sweet but in a really strong/spicy way) i almost need to have something v. spicy or minty or smoky right now to taste it properly. maybe not even cause of my tastebuds but my *brain*. like, because it's vapor, my brain just isn't like, registering, the other tastes, lol. cause i washed out a cashed clove carto & put in a mix of menthol and coffee for the hubs (trying to more closely replicate what i think he feels he's 'missing') and omg, delish.

i think figuring the flavor/taste thing out is all part of the fun though. :D

oh and Taryn, thanks--i feel a bit silly going on and on, but then again, i'm starting to love seeing *others* excitement, so i think i understand. and why so giddy, myself? well, it's like... i can love smoking [well, vaping]... with NO guilt. NO caveats, no disclaimers, i can just... enjoy it. it's like a huge burden has been lifted, and replaced with something fun... not only fun but something i can pass on to other friends who smoke and improve their *lives*... maybe i'm blowing it outta proportion, but hey. *blush*

Belle, I can see and follow your logic well. I was a menthol smoker myself and noticed that I needed the menthol and hardy flavours myself with cigs or else they wouldn't satisfy. Even though I smoked Kool XL Blues (which is about a medium str) a Full str Marlboro red was still like smoking air to me. I wouldn't be surprised if this transfered over to vaping somewhat, though I was shocked that I found the FP quite satisfying as well. Perhaps this is just a rly intense flavour?

We'll just have to try and see! (Menthol and coffee? I'm drooling! gotta try that!

Lindsay who is still dancing like giddy schoolgirl. :D

Congrats to you and welcome to the family. I have been vaping almost 2months now and have been analog free for 5 wks (last Tues.) and I am still just so excited about this. After smoking for 30 yrs I thought for sure I'd be shutting off O2 to smoke someday, but I have no worries about that now. I tell everyone I can about this wonderful new lifesaver and I am always happy to see the excitement of new folks after their first experience. It is just awesome isn't it! It really lifts a weight off your shoulders and makes you feel just great! Keep it up and enjoy!

ty kathy! <1 cig in 30 hours... instead of like... well, lots. only issue today was the 'morning' cig. just couldn't stop thinking about it. wasn't a deadly, edgy, explosive craving like it has been when quitting cold turkey or with NRT, but it was there... decided to smoke just to get it off the brain so to speak. honestly? not very enjoyable. i find that hilarious. i'm hoping on morning 2/day 3 it's less of an issue. but still... so thrilled. & lovin the coffee juice.

It does become much less of an issue once you have been off the cigs for a week or so. I can even go take the puppy out for his morning break and then relax and vape. When I was smoking I would have been grabbing for one as soon as my feet hit the floor.

I still crave nicotine but it's nothing like the urges I had while smoking, I'd have torn apart a pro football defensive line just to get at my cig. Now if I'm busy it's nothing to wait a little bit longer for my vape.

It just keeps getting better!
