I don't vape at social gatherings, except in the bathroom if I'm desperate. In addition, most of our socializing is rather insular, within our own community neighborhood. Very few people know I vape, and those who do have never seen me do it. It's just a "thing" I have, I guess.

Last night I went out with a bunch of ladies for dinner and the theater, which was in a much more public place than our small community. During intermission, I was dying for a vape, so I slipped away from my friends and went outside.

I discovered two things that really surprised me. Firstly, I was floored at the sheer amount of people out there vaping! I swear there were two vapers for every smoker. When did THAT happen? :) I was delighted!

The second thing was that two of the ladies in my group were also out there vaping!! You could have knocked me over with a feather. :)

So that was my first public vaping experience. Pretty good. :)

Vaping have boomed in the last couple of years. With all the new gear that is out now, its pretty easy to get a great setup for cheap. Especially here in california where everyone wants to be in the "in" crowd. I go out to a bar or any social area and its a 50-50 between smokers and vapers in the smoking area.

Older people still rocking the Egos.

Younger crowd got the hip mods and tanks.

The way I see it is... this is why government won't ban it. They just want to tax the .... out of it... Like it or not its going to happen.

Neat Rose, I'm glad that you had more fun than anticipated.
More often is all I can say. After all this isn't the 1940's or 50's where you ladies have to hide to enjoy something within the law.

I know how you feel, it's great when you go outside at some venue and find others vaping too! At work I was surrounded by smokers outside, after watching me NOT smoke for a year half of them have now taken up vaping :D

No! Never ever pay it forward! That's how we get guys unwilling to work on the side of freeway ramps begging for juice! Don't do it!
One of my co-workers made me a cardboard sign that reads:
NEED $$
FOR VAPES

I've been tempted to stand on the corner and see what response I get..

It's good to see! I went on a business conference and went outside for a vape and there was my bosses boss. Pretty cool.
Well I've got you beat. I'm no vape expert but am the most knowledgable in the shop where I work (vaping on the shop floor is tolerated so far, yeheee!). Two days ago my boss's-boss's-boss told me he wants me to get him started vaping. I'm taking that assignment seriously.

Growing the army of vapers is our best protection. When the army includes elected representatives, like Duncan Hunter, and a few captains of industry, it helps.

I think it is regional, but it is growing globally for sure. In Toronto, you still see many more smokers than vapers but there were basically zero vapers seen in public 2 years ago, now there is at least a growing presence.

I was in Mexico last summer and was absolutely amazed at how many Brits vaped vs. smoked. The resort was full of British folks and it was at least 5 vapers to every British smoker. I thought that was kinda neat.
