Been off analogs since early February. Good lord I've bought so much gear over the past few months. Started on some el cheapo starter kit with a disposable clearomizer. That clogged, coughed and gurgled for days until I went back to the store fed up looking for other options. Moved into BCC dual coils and a small twist battery, then Aerotanks, and SVD mod, Nautilus Aspires and recently cartomizers. I couldn't really ever get over the inconsistency from one day to the next with the coils. Replaced a lot of them.

So this past week I finally took the plunge and treated myself to a new Provari and the EHPro Kayfun Clone. Holy crap I'm in heaven!!! This brings a whole new level of fun to the party. There were days before this where I wasn't quite as satisfied as when I was smoking analogs but it wasn't hard to hang in there because I really hated smoking as a whole. The smell, morning coughing, cost. Everything about it aside from that early morning drag with fresh cup of coffee I hated. The Kayfun style RBA brings it to a whole new level. A level I love 10X more than any of my most enjoyable moments smoking analogs.

The build went fairly easily. I wish I would've done it sooner. I was so worried that it would be frustrating and confusing. Then I found a really good tutorial on YouTube by some girl named Ruby Roo. She takes you all the way through it and makes it simple if you follow her every step of the way.

My first coil looked a little crappy so I just quickly took that off and wrapped another one and I think it turned out perfect. Was shooting for 1.2 ohms and hit it on the money with both coils.

For all you new vapors like me who are on the fence, hop off and head to the RBA world. You'll never look back!!! Happy vaping!!!!!

Nice,I got my Black Provari yesterday, and my EHpro KFL+ V2 on Saturday (this is my first RBA). The flavor difference is unreal, and the coil build is fairly simple, still trying to figure out the right amount of cotton to use,but that'll come.

From what I was seeing it looked like I was better off going light on cotton so I took what looked like a very small strip and it turned out great. Once I got it in the coil and the chimney base in place it looked like a lot more than what I started with.

Man does that sound familiar!

After smoking analogs for 35+/- years I:
- Started with Blue cigalikes in early February
- Moved to eGo-T batteries with an assortment of Kanger and Aspire clearos
- Got an SVD with a Kanger Aero (for home use, wanted "stealth" on the road)

for home use I:
- Got a Smok Magneto and really cheap Trident RDA clone (trash)
- Got a Helious RDA Clone (not so good)
- Got an Igo-W (really not a bad dripper)

I travel a lot every day and cover a good deal of New York State doing service work. I used to carry 3 complete clearo setups because I couldn't make it through the day without 1, if not all of them, flooding on me and becoming un-usable until I could sit and take them apart. I actually found myself facing a 3 1/2 hour ride home one day with nothing working so a broke down and bought a pack of analogs!

I spent $11.00 for that pack of Cigs!!! It was then that I decided to go big or stay home so to speak. I broke down and got a ZNA with a Link RDA and also got a KFL Clone. Now I'm set! The ZNA and KFL combo are perfect and I'll never go back again!

If I had the money I spent on all that other stuff, I could buy two more ZNA's with real RBA's and still have money for juice! Just tonight I actually gave my Magneto away with the Igo-W to the friend that introduced me to vaping.

I may get another mech mod just to have, but for now my sights are on a real Russian 91% and maybe one of Zen's Genesis Hybrids.

I think I probably have enough experience (I'm to the "wife making fun of my gear" point) so here goes...
So far, I've tried (mostly clones):
Kangar protanks
AGA-TD (genesis style)
Aqua
Kayfun
Taifun GT
Immortalizer (non-clone); bought a clone for extra parts and it the quality really sucked

I prefer tanks because of the volume I vape. The immo rocks, but I've not been able to get it above about 15 drops which only last about 20-30 minutes. I've been the happiest with my Taifun Gt. AGA was a great vape, but is too positional to carry easily. Aqua is good, but doesn't hold much. Kayfun is a good vape, but I have issues with it leaking too much. Taifun holds a ton of e-liq and lends itself well to playing with different coils/wicks without a lot of problems leaking.

Currently I'm rolling a Hana mini with my Taifun coiled with a 1.3 ohm 4 wrap 30g coil around a 3mm readywick that I inserted a stainless mesh roll into and it's hitting like a truck.

Did my first yesterday. Very cool and fun. I got an Aqua clone and really like the idea of building my own. I have only been vaping for 7 weeks and figure if I stop buying things now I will break even in 2020. But atleast I feel better and smell better, and I'm having fun. Not to mention I actually like vaping better, the taste of so many cool juices. I'm still a little unsure about rebuilding but I'm sure with practice I will get it down.

I just got a KFL+ too, and you're right, it's amazing! I started out rebuilding my T3S/protank coils, just learning how to do it, and once I figured it out, I had to get a *real* rebuildable, and I am so glad I did! But I had to close down my airflow almost completely; I got the 2mm enlarged airflow one, from Tobeco, and it was so wide open it was like trying to "smoke" a straw. Now it whistles a little, but the hit is solid and saturated, I can taste it!

But my first build wasn't that great; I had been doing 2.5Ω coils for the T3S's, so the idea of going much lower kinda freaked me out; my first one was supposed to be 2Ω, came out 2.1, but it was a little too cool, and a little too slow, so I did another, hit it perfect at 1.7Ω; tried ekowool first, but still wasn't getting much taste, so I tried the peaches and cream yarn that burns too fast in the T3S's, and man it's awesome in this kayfun! The TH is just unbelievable!

Anyway I'm glad I held out to find a brushed steel one, because it's just beautiful on my Sigelei, and it vapes as good as it looks!

Rebuildables are great, I love them myself and I wouldn't want to ever be without them, but they are not the right choice for everyone. The great thing about vaping right now is the variety of equipment we have available to chose from. It looks like that's all going to change in a couple of years, but for now I'll take it with a smile ;)

The downside is you have to be willing to build coils, wick them and make sure they're safe. That doesn't work for a lot of people.

But I hear ya and I salute you. May your vape always be juicy and good :thumb:

Hey, there's a vape mantra in there somewhere ...

I'm in the same boat, such a huge difference. Even from a rebuilt kanger coil. I think getting the right amount of wicking is the hardest part of all my builds.

This is a great story and basically same as me. I got the russian 91% and the provari v2 after I did several egos and then multiple kanger tanks. I could have had a lot of nice stuff if I woulda got the good rigs from the get go. Moral of the story, if you're serious get a good setup sooner than later!

I gotta read up more on the whole FDA proposed regulation. I printed the 80 page document off of their website the other day and it's sitting on my desk at work. I got ...... off after reading a couple pages related to the e-cig regulations.

You really think they're going to step in though on the equipment and devices? I skimmed it briefly and couldn't find anything related to hardware minus the e-liquid. It seems crazy that they would stick their noses in this part of the industry when they've left tobacco related equipment alone. I mean you can walk into any store and buy the most exotic of all "ahem" tobacco ....s and pipes. But they'll stop the distribution of e-liquid hardware?

I am kind of cautiously optimistic hoping that the worst we'll see is an industry where we can buy flavored PG and VG vaping liquids, then procure the nicotine separately to mix. Of course I'm sure they'll find a way to screw this up for every analog convert out their fighting to stay away from the stuff that will surely kill them.

I, like you, started out with cheap crap of which at the time I thought was the cream of the crop.

I used those stardust tanks and an ego C battery... well needless to say, that last only a couple months before I decided to switch my choice of tank. I really hated those darn stardusts for too many reasons. I went out and bought myself a Kanger mini and that went well for a while until I accidentally broke the glass and had a hard time finding a replacement at any of my local B&M's (I didn't want to pay an arm and a leg for one online). So I moved up to a Kanger Protank II. By now i'm thinking wow well I sure am high up on the mountain. Later on got really tired of that because of the lack of flavor and lack of vapor I seemed to run into compared to the way my man's was doing for him. (By now he's totally running on RBA's and mech mod's) So out of curiosity I finally ended up with my own mech mod and a Kayfun Clone!!!! WOW was that like seeing through a clean glass!!

I am now happy to say that I vape this Kayfun like a freight train day in and day out. Finally have mastered a good ohm on the coil that I am comfortable with which is usually around a 1.8-2.0

So glad to see more and more around me getting off those horrid and constricting starter kits and really joining the party so to speak!!

Thanks for sharing and yes HAPPY VAPING TO ALL!!!

Whoa! I'm not alone! I was initially introduced to vaping via Blu eCigs and it wasn't long before I was back on analogs. Then I came across an eGo-V with Vivi Nova tank - much better, but still not quite there. So then I got a hold of a Kanger AeroTank around the time I started venturing into building my own coils with cotton wicks. I've gotta say, after building a few dual micro-coils for the AeroTank (basically the same as the PT3), it was no problem at all building them once I got my Kayfun Lite + Clone with my MVP 2. Now I just need to save up the money to get my mech. mod!

Is it worth it learning how to build your own coils for an RBA/RDA? Absolutely! I get the vape I want, and I've had the same coil in this thing for well over a month now - have only had to change the cotton. Now I'm just starting to wish I wouldn't have gone so big with 100 feet of Kanthal - I'm pretty much set for life!

Totally. If I build I good coil, I just keep running it for ages and just rewick once a week or twice as needed. Just dry fire that puppy for 10 second bursts and it goes back to brand new! My way every puff.

I really don't think they can touch any part of this EXCEPT the e-liquid, because it contains a drug -- nevermind that that particular drug has been classified as OTC for years, now that OTC sales of it for e-cigs are threatening their bottom lines, they're all afraid of it. They're afraid of losing market share, is what they're afraid of, they obviously don't give a rat's patootie about our health, or they wouldn't be acting like this. No, I'm not cynical, I'm a clear-sighted realist, and I can see perfectly well that that Emperor is stark naked.
