Much to my surprise, my wife who is the manager of a local vapor store, gave her blessing for me to pay ridiculous money for my first and last real (non-clone) mech. The store got 5 of them and one was reserved with my name on it.

As I have no other original mechanical mods to compare it to, I can only compare it to my small arsenal of clones which includes 2 Chi You's, a Nemesis, and an Origin. I always thought the Nemesis clone was about spot on perfect in regards to voltage drop, but I can now honestly say the performance of the Flip is dramatically better when switching the same atomizer and battery between the two.

The Fit, finish, and threading are amazing. It also boasts gold "d" plated contacts. It is more weighty, like the Chi You's, but has a very solid and well built feel to it in the hand.

For those curious, it is called the "Flip" because of the way it is switched for different battery and/or kick combinations. The end tubes can be flipped around to create the different needed lengths, and they each unscrew in 3 1/2 turns, so it's a fairly quick operation.

Nothing else like it. I thought it would be impossible for V3tronix to out-do their .50 Cal Mod.

Well....they've done it. You read things like "2mm deep engravings", but it doesn't register how deep that really is until you run your fingers over it.

If someone only gets to buy one authentic US-Made mod in their lifetime, the V3 Flip is the one.

I do regret not getting the personalization, but couldn't think of anything other than my stupid initials, and I didn't want to wait the extra few days just for that. Oh, well.

18650+Kick2, um....yes, please.

I picked up a battery-spacer so I can keep it fully extended when using an unregulated setup, minus the Kick 2. It's so incredible looking, it even makes the Youde IGO-W3 look like it's worth a fortune when it's perched on top.

Better yet, it looks like something straight out of the future with an Ithaka on top. When I'm out in public people just stare at it. Surely most have no idea what it is. (I'm sure most of them assume it's a weapon of some sort until I vape it.) The V3 belt-case is another sweet bonus.

Neither this quality of materials, nor this level of craftsmanship can be duplicated by China. Cloning this for under $170 is impossible as I can see it. One thing we will see on future mech mods, is this thread styling. EVERY mod maker will duplicate V3's cap design. They'd be idiots not to.

5 star mod. 11 out of 10.

I held the .50 cal mod for the first time yesterday. Really a nice piece of machining. The tube seams literally disappear as you thread it together.

I'm still loving my Flip, but I suspect China will duplicate it to an extent. That being in terms of the Flip's function in regards to flipping the tubes to get your different battery/kick configurations. If they do the engravings as well, I'd be really surprised.

My wife just got a Flip too. She opted for the powder coated blue version. Her store has two titanium Flips on the way.....hmmmm........

I too am a recent Recipient of the Flip & OMG! Beyond satisfied.
I got the straight stainless because I couldn't find a Titanium. I didn't know if they would be making more and didn't want to wait.
Industrial Art at its finest to be sure.
I have used it as a pure Mech; with a Kick2; and a Crown. All of which have their benefits.
I like the option of smaller batteries as well, but haven't tried them as I don't want to run out of power, ever!
I'm not sure how an authentic Taifun GT could be any better than the clone I bought as a test. I couldn't physically consume any more vape at one time.

China won't be able to touch the engravings, especially on the same grade of Stainless, and sell it at a price point low enough to entice buyers. It would have to run over $150 bare minimum. The CNC time is too costly even by Asia's labor standards.

While I stay away from illegal (and immoral, imho) "Copies" which bear fake logos, I do buy Clones, and love them when they're revolutionary designs.

THAT's where The Flip will be duplicated. The cap design. The "layered" tube threading is so brilliant, yet so blatantly obvious in 20/20 hindsight, that mech mod mfrs will eat the design up. Kinda wonder how I didn't think of it??

I went right for the Titanium and they were out. :( I was willing to pay the up-charge gladly.

Just wish I went for having my initials engraved. I just wanted it so damn badly. Couldn't wait the extra time.
