I made my first attempt with an E-cig last week - a SafeCig. I am not happy with the amount of vapor, the flavor, pretty much anything. I ran across this forum 3 days ago and have been reading...and reading... and reading... lol.

At any rate, I just ordered an EGO, 3 extra sets of pre-filled carts, and LR atomizer from LiteCig.

This better be FAR better than my SafeCig or I will be smoking Marlboro lights...as it did little to satisfy me - and I smoke 1.5 packs a day. Fingers crossed...:?:

Good luck Thebuss, for me it really was about liking vaping better. The added smelling ,not hurting my self as bad, vaping inside, the taxes, lighters needed, fire factor, laundry detergent, pumping more iron, stamina, smoke store runs, ashtray finding fits, and cold cash out of my pocket did not have one thing to do with switching to vaping.Ps-buy juice really.

Thanks all. I have watched a lot of video reviews and the amount of "smoke" I get from the SafeCig does not seem to even compare to what I see on the videos shown for the type of PV's discussed on this forum (501, 801, 901, EGO, etc.) So it would seem to me that the EGO is going to be far, far better - unless the videos are VERY misleading, lol. My guess is the SafeCig is very similar to GreenSmokes, same type of ecig.

On another note, this forum is VERY helpful in that when you search on the net 95% of the "advice" sites are nothing more than affiliate sites trying to sell products. This is why I initially choose the SafeCig as I could not find non-biased information. I knew they were affiliate sites but decided to buy anyhow and try ecigs out. They are better than nothing, I suppose....but I need a much more fulfilling experience...

Great choice TheBuss. The eGo is the way to go. The hardest part is finding a flavor and strength that you like. Don't go crazy and buy dozens of flavors that may end up in a storage bin because you don't like them. Buy small quantities at first. And find the right nicotine level. I don't know why new users go from an analog that was about 11 to 13 mg of Nic strength to 18, 24 or 36mg. Maybe it's because of the packaging. Some vendors include it in the kit.

Welcome and congratulations !!! Ummmm...I didn't see that you ordered any juice ??

I thought about it... but then took it out of the cart. I want to see if I like the EGO before I buy every conceivable accessory for it, lol. I have watched the video on how to fill a cartomizer (taking it apart, etc.) and I definitely am not going to go through that much hassle. Therefore, if the pre-filled work fine, then that is what I will stick with. I guess it is easy to fill blank cartridges rather than cartomizers... not sure.

I thought of something a minute ago... (while outside having an analog - of course) - that might be brilliant or may be a stupid.... use a passthrough to connect to a mobile phone that has a USB port on it... and have 5v on the go...hmmm... hmmm... One thing at a time Grasshopper.... lol. Seems logical however....

This happened to me. I was a lite smoker, and started vaping at 11mg, but quickly moved up to 24mg. I agree with veteran vapers, and believe it is because your body is craving other addictive chemicals that are in cigs but not e-cigs; and because e-cigs are absorbed differently: because analogs convert the nic to a gas (not a vapor), it hits your brain instantly. It’s one of the biggest differences between vaping and smoking I’ve noticed: that first hit on a cig gives you that instant gratification you don’t get with vaping.

I can tell you this is true because a couple of months ago I tried to switch to American Spirit analogs instead of MB lights. They are supposedly "all natural", likely meaning chemical free - certainly compared to MB's. I immediately noticed that I craved a MB even after just smoking an A.S. I presumed right then that I was addicted to all the chemicals added to Marlboro cigs in ADDITION to nicotine. That experiment only lasted a couple of weeks as I continued wanting a MB....

The problem I and I notice my family members had was when going to higher nic levels, your nerves start to go, we got irritable & jittery hearth was racing. But if you keep it up, your body starts to crave the higher nic and your body will adjust. I slowly cut back to about 14 mg right now. Hope to come down to maybe 11mg eventually.

my advice is for when you quit smokes, for the reason that I only smoke/vape when going out for the night(30 years now) ,I have others things that require thought but smoking is not an addiction to me , so by all means only take my advive for flavor or love of puffing.I wish you well in everyway , it works really for a large %

This is why if American tobacco companies ever start making e-juice, I'll be very sceptical: who knows what they will put in it!! I trust the Chinese more than them.

You chose a great e-cig!

But you WILL want some juice. When you get your eGo, you should take one of the atty's and blow the primer out into a paper towel and drip a couple of drops of juice onto the atty, pop on a pre-filled cart and vape. Every 10-15 minutes you'll want to add a couple of drops into the cart to keep it moist or else it won't work properly. The juice is like gasoline for your car, and 5 pre-filled carts would probably last me a day (if I could get them to wick properly).

Filling cartomizers is easier than filling carts IMO only because you don't have to do it as often (do them all the night before and they're ready to go for the next day) and because there are a few different ways to do it, some easier than others.

Good luck, and HAVE FUN! You'll love the eGo compared to what you started with - HUGE difference!

Well, after the earlier comment about not getting any juice I went and ordered about $35 worth of juice and a couple of blank cartridges from LiteCig to add to my order. I "think" I have all bases covered now....lol

I do not recall if I ordered any blank cartomizers.... maybe. I saw the video of pulling it apart, etc... and i was like... hmm... all that just to "smoke"?... Perhaps I am just exceptionally lazy.... Anyhow, i will fiddle with all of my new stuff when I get it in a few days and go from there...

I will admit all of this is far more complicated with the 843,000 different variations and choices... Likely why the mass marketed e-cigs like Blu, etc. sell so many....and WHY those companies sell the type of product they do... Screw the 2 pieces together and puff.... simple concept for most to understand... and easier concept for them to effectively market to the masses without having to educate them. Would simply be too expensive and confusing to try and explain all of these better choices via marketing.

I have spent 3 days reading this forum and still know barely enough. The cost to market even what I know would be a fortune....
