hi all,
i did my first rebuild today.
i have been using iclear16's for a while.they are dual coil and a lot more
delicate than single coils and the wire would break after 1 or 2 very gentle cleanings at most.
i was getting replacement assemblies at my local BM at 3.99 a pop.
i saved all the old heads though, and ordered some 32 gauge kanthal and 2 mm silicon wick.
so how to you rebuilds a dual coil assembly you might ask?
i didn't,i converted it to single coil.
in place of the top coil i whittled down a tooth pick to fit in the cross slot.
i wrapped it cotton from a cotton ball to give it s snug fit and not allow
juice to flood the coil chamber.
i figure it would act like a glorified flavor wick.
it ohmed out at 3 ohms so it should be acceptable using my ego's.
i'm trying to aim for 2 to 2.5 ohms.i just need the practice.
i'm now wating for another head assembly to go kaput to try it out.
regards
mike
