I got the ipv4 about a month ago. Been researching and soaking up some knowledge here before I tried it out. It works and I assume it works as it's supposed to. 28G Ni200, 6 wraps @ 1/4", .091ohms. Still playing with it, but I do like that you can adjust the temp. My ADV is awesome, but I've never been able to drip it before. It tastes awesome in a KF, but the flavor profile changes at higher temps and one of the flavors overpowers everything else. I'm still on the fence overall though. I'll give it a try in a tootle puffer, but in a dripper, so far it gets a weak "meh". I went with my V1 Tugboat because it's airflow isn't so great and it always got too hot, but made great flavor. I thought it was a goo candidate for a TC build. It solved the heat problem, but flavor definitely suffers as does cloud production.

It's also a difficult medium to work with. The coil was purdy when I went to bolt it in. Nice evenly spaced wraps and such. In trying to center it for airflow, the wraps got mushed up a lil bit.

This is neat though.

I had an issue with my vertex v2 saying dry coil even when it was soaked I had to turn the power down and the temp down. To be honest I have the ipv 3 li and am in now way impressed with the temp control with that device but I have not don't the firmware update yet so that may help Idk. I do however love the temp control on my nebula sxk 60 and I run it between 400-500 degrees at 40-50 watts and I still don't know what the nickel purity setting really is but I moved it to 100 and it's just wonderful. .11 ohm single standard coil 28g ni200 wrapped on 2mm screw driver (9 wraps)

It only gives the dry coil warning when the coil is dry as a popcorn fart. I just thought it was neat that it does it. It's not a necessary thing since the juice is pretty much gone long before it actually pops up. You only get 2 or 3 good hits off 10 -12 drops of juice, then cloud production tapers off severely. It's hard not to notice you need to drip again.

Wrap your coil around a machine screw, leave it on the screw while you attach/adjust, then back the screw out when you have it where you want. I always use a 6-32, which gives a 2.5mm ID. An 8-32 will give you about a 3mm ID.

One tip I don't see mentioned very often; don't over manipulate the coil once you have the leads locked down. The more you move the coil the weaker the legs will get where the screw pinches them.
